Creating Fabric Rag Flowers

Hi Friends~
When I traveled recently on my junkin trip
I kept creating and designing by sewing these rag flowers
to decorate and embellish future projects.
Easy and quick using scraps I have on hand.
You start  with torn fabric strips about 12 " long and 2 1/2" wide.
Taking a running stitch along the edge to gather
and sew together to form the base.
You can layer these by tearing wider or thinner strips.

Centers are accented with lace, buttons, vintage jewelry and more.
The backs are finished with circles cut from felt or heavier fabric.
You can also add ribbon for leaves or use silk leaves to the back.
Here are a few more complete and ready to use in a project
or decorate a wrapped gift.

This next one is created using cotton gauze
and an large earring part in the center.

This one below is just lace with a rolled gauze flower
and a paper flower for the center.

Easy, fast and fun.

Thank for stopping by.
Hope you are enjoying the start to spring
in your area.

See you soon and till then,
Southern DayDreams be yours.
