Merry Christmas 2017

🌲Merry Christmas 🌲

The season is upon us and we are well into December.
So much to do for the holiday and I can say I'm ready and done, thankfully!
I hope now to take the time to relax and reflect upon the
reason for the season.
Slowing down to enjoy the simple moments with family and friends
and grateful for so many blessings I could not begin to count!

As most of you may know by now,
my blog has become more of a newsletter.
After 10 plus years of blogging,
my direction had to change.
While much is still the same, other ways of balancing
life has been redirected and giving me more time to design.
Change is good and most times necessary!
I know many of you are facing the same
and I see so many blogging less or more depending on the situation.

Here's a quick decor idea.
Metal tray from the dollar store, painted black
and accented with wooden letters painted white and glued in place.

I will continue to share here on my blog, once a month
as I have been doing and free to open the comments once again.

I look forward  to visiting you and so many I follow here throughout the week.

Everyday you can find me posting on Instagram
sharing  home and garden on my interior design account.
I'd love for you to visit
and the link is on the sidebar here.

I still have my shop on etsy
and we have a new CEO who has made an incredible difference
for the small business owner.
We needed the direction and I am thankful to all who create, sell and shop etsy!!

Quick Christmas accent rug is easy to create,
using an inexpensive rug from the dollar store and stenciling with acrylic paint!
I hope you find the time to bake. I love making these traditional
Pizelles (in the middle) for Christmas. My mother and grandmother made them before me
and I've carried on the family tradition for years.
Christmas is not the time to diet!!!

As always I have a sale going on in my etsy shop.
and currently it is 30 percent off any purchase of two items.

Sales will be on going in many different ways going forward.
From discounts, to free shipping will be offered each month!!

I have lots of new designs coming up in the new year
and I can't wait to share them with you.

My creative muse is excited and still going strong
in the field of Decorative Painting
and I just celebrated my long time
membership in
The Society of Decorative Painters since 1988
I hope to share more of our activities and info
here throughout the new year.

I'm also continuing to design for VIDA (link on the sidebar)  and loving the opportunity to work in
a global community that not only brings beautiful upscale products to the world
from designing artist like myself,
but brings jobs and education to the many folks that create from my designs by sewing,
machine printing, developing and more.
It's really a wonderful way for me to give back while doing what I love!!

Small decorative Joy sign is easy to create using
wood letters with a wood blank square, painted and stenciled before
gluing on the word letters.

Here in Texas we enjoyed a long warm season
but now some cold days are here and welcomed
for Christmas.

And while we are enjoying sunshine and cooler days,
we can't forget the many in California who are
in the throws of wildfires and loss.
I have a cousin who lives there and she emailed me to say,
it's very bad and the air quality is terrible.
They are wearing gas masks.
Our prayers go out to those affected!
Another quick wall art winter accent.
12" wide wood board routed and painted black.
Then stenciled with Let it Snow and added snowflakes.
Quick, easy and makes a statement.
🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲

Here's another version for outside using a longer wood board routed,
painted and stenciled vertical to hang on the garden gate!

Sending joyful thoughts your way this season
and I hope your holiday is made extra special!
I hope your stockings are spilling over with many blessings!

May God Bless your path this holiday and long into the New Year.
Thank you for stopping by to visit
and
Best Wishes for a very
Merry Christmas!!!
