Fall Around the Kitchen

Hi Friends

It's Autumn in my kitchen.

I've added a few simply changes
that speak fall.

I have found that color can bring that feel
even without an obvious accent like pumpkins and more.

Well, I do have a few faux pumpkins and seasonal accents,
however
color changes and texture really help to pull a fall look together.

The Flavors of Fall is one of my favorite seasonal cook books
and
it finds a place in my changeable kitchen corner.

To the vintage scale,
I topped it again this year with the cork pumpkins I created last year.

Be Thankful on the cutting board is perfect for all seasons.
This little Home Sweet Home plate is painted with such a sweet fall scene.

Adding fall napkins to the counter bring in the fall style.
I found the pumpkin covered dish
in RoundTop, Texas last fall on a October trip.

 To the island,
I simply added a wire basket
filled with a boxwood,
rooster,
and small pumpkins and pears.

Moving around to the table
I just pull out all my fall colored pretties
and
make it Autumn.

These fall inspired plates are from Pier 1
and a great sale several years ago.
They are made in Italy and the name is called A New Harvest!

The similar pattern of fruit is also on the umber glass salad bowl.
A gift of 12 from my son many years ago for Christmas.
Included in the set is the large salad bowl with the same shape and pattern.

Scattered about  the table,
I've added flat fall leaves from the Dollar Tree.
On each leaf I wrote with a Sharpie pen hopeful words like,
thankful, blessings, God, family, grateful, cherish
and so forth.
The skies the limit to the words you choose.

Fanny Burat cups
and her gorgeous painting,
Roses et Volubilis

I love her  painting of roses and florals in vintage aged colors.

The glasses were a find last year at the Dollar tree.
Can't beat these beautiful tall ice tea glasses with fall leaves
in browns, rust and cream.

My centerpiece is a layered candle ring with all the accents of Autumn.
To the center I added
a Luminaria timer candle that flickers like a real flame.
Comes on each evening at the same time.
It is really welcoming to be out for the evening
come home,
and have the candle light to show the way.

Some of you have asked where to find these timer candles.
I have found the best types are sold online at,

I found this teapot on a recent junkin trip.
It was brand new still in the box.
I scooped it up mostly because I have the Dutch oven that matches it.
Plus it just looks pretty on the stove for fall~
and for 5 dollars plus new, SCORE!!

You might remember my coffee and tea bar I
created and tucked in one area of my kitchen counter.
Well I wanted to design a sign for it
and when my dear friend gave me several of these chalk board plaques,
I used one to create
Fresh Brewed, Coffee or Tea.
I used a stencil for the cup
and the rest is done free hand with a chalk pen.

I love a cozy kitchen for the season
and
look forward to gathering around the table with family and friends.

Happy Fall everyone.
Hope you enjoy the
BE THANKFUL season!!

Blessings
