HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

When father prays the house is still,
his voice is slow and deep.
We shut our eyes, the clock ticks loud,
so quiet we must keep.

Sometimes the prayer gets very long
and hard to understand,
and then I wiggle up quite close,
and let him take my hand.

I can't remember all of it,
I'm little yet, you see;
but one thing I cannot forget,
my father prays for me.

Author Unknown~ From the book, To Father with Love~ Norman Vincent Peale
This sweet poem reminds me of my childhood, listening to my dad in prayer. I miss him, but hold close to the wonderful memories that fill my heart with thankfulness.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's. Blessings with love and happiness always.
See you again soon, I'm off to treasure hunt!
Hugs, Celestina Marie

Celestina Marie, that is a very sweet poem with a tender memory of your beloved Father. Thank you for sharing such a sweet thought with me.

From the looks of that photo it looks like you managed to get the yard in tip-top shape after that tornado blew through last week! Your doggy looks so sweet!

Your patio set is nice! :)

Happy Father's Day to your DH!

Oh I can close my eyes now Celeste and nod in agreement! There is just something different when it comes to our Fathers. Papa's dedication to God I so admire that I am grateful he has taught us to be ever so thankful to Him. And that He (our father above) is what matters the most.

Happy Father's Day to all men who are, have been fathers and father-figure to someone. :-)

...and happy treasure hunting too!

Hi Celeste! I love this poem, had never read it before. I miss my daddy so much, think this Father's Day was even sadder for me than last year. My daddy's prayers are still in my head, too. And as he was an elder in our church for many years, I can still hear him praying in front of the church, too. Sweet memories.

I LOVE this pic of Beaz!! Give her a big ol' hug for me!

Love you,
Stephanie

Father's Day was hard for me this year as my Dad has been gone now for a bit over 5 years. The 21st wasn't just Father's Day but would have been my Dads 81st birthday....
Beautiful Poem!!
