Apron Charm

Welcome to Fun Friday and Fashion. Today I will share a few aprons in my collection vintage and new. I am not sure exactly when I started to love aprons of all kinds, but I have for awhile. I don't have a large collection, but of the dear treasures I own, I use them to decorate my home. I wear one at times, when I think about it.

Half aprons and bib aprons are both favorties. I have an assortment of both hanging in my studio and kitchen, even the laundry. Please join me in viewing these treasures.

Look at the wonderful crochet my grandma added to her apron pocket and edge. Layers of gorgeous threads, very creatively formed into roses. She was a wonder!!

This one was sent to me some time ago from Scrappy Jessie. She saw my studio and thought it would go nicely, and it surely does.

This apron is a beauty made by Connie of Living Beautifully.

These two Christmas Aprons were made by my grandma many years ago. One is a fabric with kittens and the other with a sweet little dog. I can still see her wearing one while making Christmas dinner. I am not this neat when I cook. Look how clean they are!

This last apron is one that I am working on. I started with a white ready made canvas apron. Then I added the end of a vintage dresser runner that my mother had made many years ago. This type of runner was popular back in the 50's when crafters used to use a special fabric ballpoint paint to follow the designs premade on the runner. I see where this has become popular again and supplies sold in crafting catalogs and in art shops. Anyway, one end was flawed from years of use so I decided to cut one end and make it the pockets for the apron. It is now 2 pockets in the center with the original runner lace. I still have lots of embellishments to add to complete, but wanted to share the start of this keepsake.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the fall season whatever your plans.
See you Monday for Marvels and Musings.
Smiles, Celestina Marie

I think you know which is my favorite, but actually is my "all time favorite" because of the Cyrus Clark roses, honey. Those others are gorgeous and adorable though. Lucky you, sugar!! Hope all is well with you, hubs and son. We're well here.
xoxo,
Connie

Hello Celeste... how beautiful they all are... I especially love the ones that were your grandma's, those are priceless... I also love the one you are working on, how sweet! I have a small collection of vintage aprons, including mine from Home Ec class from Junior High, it is a white bib style apron with my name embroidered on it... brings back alot of memories... my mama always wore an apron too, and I honestly don't know how those ladies kept theirs so clean either! Bisous... Julie Marie

Oh Celeste, they are awesome! You know, when I didn't like aprons, I COULD have had many tht were offered to me. Now that I love aprons, I own two! LOL! Go figure. I think the older I got, the more I appreciated vintage items like aprons.
Loved your post AGAIN.

Such a great collection! I have some of my grandmother's aprons as well. She always wore one in the kitchen, well, most of the time really whenever I was there. Sometimes I'll just hold one and feel her presence again.
She always kept hers immaculate as well. I know she must cringe when she sees my dust around here! LOL Thanks for sharing Celeste!! Hope to post tomorrow for Pink Saturday. xoxo

Hey Friend,
I've missed a few of your posts but went back and caught up. I love your painted light bulbs and ornaments. They are so sweet.
Your collection of aprons are very impressive! I have one that I use. lol How sweet to have some of your mom's and grandma's.
Can't wait to see the one you're doing when you get it finished.
I'm off preparing for company. Not a lot of time in the next 3 weeks but it is so worth it for family.
Enjoy your weekend!!

I have only one question, Celeste. Where is Donna Reed with her pearl necklace? ;-) That would complete the picture! These are lovely!
