"Ambrosia Tea Room"

Not only a great spot for lunch in the old town of Salado, Texas, but a great study in black and white decor. As most of you know, my studio is designed in black and white toile with touches of pink on a beige background. So I was soaking up the decor like a sponge. I got so many new ideas that I wanted to share with you. The owners were so nice to let me take pictures, and take pictures I did, even in the powder room.

So to begin, the walls were a light sage with black furniture and vintage ivory pieces accented here and there. The tables were topped with black and white plaid runners on white tablecloths. So without more reading, let's just view the pics. Enlarge if you'd like to see the details. There really is some unique decorating ideas you might enjoy to see close up.
This is the main dining room.

While viewing the pics, notice the vintage clothing and dressing accessories used for art work. Wall shelves hold vintage shoes and purses hang like art work in varied vignettes on the sage green walls. Gorgeous.

Vintage hats on wire hat stands grace every table. Vintage white gloves hold eating utensils and napkins. Empty frames surround hats placed on the wall and plate racks hold favorite books instead of plates.

Having been a family home at one time, each of the rooms are designated a different name and outside the room hangs an iron hook with the room name on a plaque.
Down this hall, you view a large wall photo of Audrey Hepburn which leads to the powder room, where more great decorating ideas inspire. Here are a few pics. Notice the vintage corset hung on the wall with silk flowers inside like a wall vase.

I hope you enjoyed this elegant tea room in the gorgeous black and white. It really was inspirational and full of decorating ideas using vintage treasures in unique ways.

When I return, I will share my found vintage treasure from Evelyn's Antiques in Schulenberg, Texas.
Till next time, have a wonderful day.

Blessings and Blue Skies Be Yours.
Celestina Marie

The very first black and white tea room I've seen and it's wonderful! I LOVE the way the silverware and napkins are nestled inside the gloves. What an amazing idea! And the corset with the flowers...wow what an imagination they have! I always wished if I had another room to decorate it would bee black and white toile. I LOVE it's casual elegance! Thanks for sharing this gorgeous tea room.
Have a wonderful day!

Hello Celeste :) My, I can certainly see why you would love this Tea room! I know you got lots of wonderful ideas to use and decorate in your beautiful home! Everything is just so wonderful; I so wish we had a Tea room near us, but sadly we do not :( I don't think I could get hubby to go to one any way, as that's not his "cup 'o tea", lol . Looking forward to seeing what wonderful treasures you found.

Warmest hugs, Brenda

How totally beautiful and elegant!!

I love discovering new tearooms, and I always hope that I'll one day get a chance to visit each one. Now, wouldn't that be a fun idea...some people want to go to a national park in every state...how about visiting an elegant tearoom in every state?!!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos.

Dearest Celestina Marie,

That is quite an extraordinary tea room; aside from being elegant! Love the frames with obviously articles in a kind of window pane pattern like a true window! The gloves are unique and so is the corsette with flowers. Sure you got quite some ideas there! Thanks for capturing them the way you did.

Have a great week and sending you sunshine form Georgia after the heavy rains from yesterday,

Oh, Celeste, you were right! So many ideas! What a lovely, lovely place to have tea! All of the touches were so well-thought-out. I adore the color scheme. I've been wondering what to do with our bathroom. I am soooo tired of the off-white ivory walls. Hmmm....I think I need to make a to-do list for my hubby! ;-)
Thank you for sharing!

What a lovely place to dine. I feel I've been in that house, but I'm sure it was during a time of previous owners, as it was not decorated as it is today. It is lovely. My favorite place to dine would be in front of the faux fireplace ~ 2 guesses why ~ the mirrors and the silhouettes!! I adore the corset with the silk flowers. Think I need to find a corset now! :0)

I hope Miss Beazy faired well while you were away. I worried about her Sat., as it was so stormy in your area and here as well. But I knew that if you weren't back that R would take excellent care of her for you.

Glad you are home!

I've been telling everyone I know about this amazing tea room!!! It is so gorgeous...
and see, I don't want to grow up either because then I guess I won't be able to have as much fun having a tea party!!! It takes the joy of a child to have that much fun, don't you think?
Sending hugs,
Cindy
