Vintage Cookie Gun,Fun!

Oh what fun it was to bake cookies using my mom's vintage cookie press gun. So easy and so good.

Many years ago, mom and I would make cookies using this wonderful tool. At some point I even taped the recipe in the lid. And look, the original price tag still on the box from Montgomery Wards. I am not sure of the year, but if was sometime in the early 60's. I remember being in the first grade when we made these delicious butter cookies in sweet designs made from the interchangeable plates.

It really was fun times back then when mom and I baked together. I have not used this tool in awhile so I thought this year I would bake few and share the day with you. Here is a bit of the process. An old cookie baking craft, but still as yummy today as it was then.

So yummy good. Did you notice Miss B looking on? She always has to see what mom is up to! LOL of course she had to have a little taste. She agreed they are too good!

In the end of my baking day, I had to make a batch of Snickerdoodles to fill my Christmas Cottage Cookie Jar. These also bring back many memories of being the room mother for my son's grade school classes. The kiddos always loved them.

Thank you for coming over to bake some fresh cookies created with my vintage cookie gun tool. I will be back tomorrow and share my trips to the White House, never before shown on my blog. I hope you can join me as we visit the Nations Capital.
Till then, enjoy the day and Merry Christmas.
Hugs from Texas,
Celestina Marie

Hi Celeste... how fun!... I love those kinds of cookies!... my mama had an old cookie press with those changeable designs, which I now have, but it was not like a gun... I have never seen one like yours before!... the cookies look so pretty and I love Miss Beazy looking up at them!... I so remember Montgomery Wards... are they still even around? Snickerdoodles are my very favorite, yum! And your Christmas cookie jar makes them even more special... I will be back for sure tomorrow to visit the White House with you!... xoxo Julie Marie

Dearest Celestina Marie,

It is more the Mother-daughter bonding that goes with this cookie gun; fond memories! They indeed turn out perfectly and of course Miss B approves of them; who would not?!
Thanks for sharing this with us and look forward to your next blog!

Oh, Celeste, we ARE a lot alike! I've got an old-fashioned cookie press, too! Bree just used it for her annual cookie exchange party that she hostesses! She used the spritz, the snowflake and the tree designs. I've got that exact recipe, too! They are yummy and always turn out perfectly. Beaz looks so sweet patiently awaiting her nibbles! I'm going to make Snickerdoodles, too, for Christmas day!!

Love you,
Stephanie

How fun, but alas! no baking here from me this year.
I managed to get the gifts wrapped, house clean, and laundry caught up before my surgery on Wednesday. Baking had to go to the wayside this year:(
Have a blessed Christmas Celeste to you and yours!

Hi Celestina, I had to leave you a comment tonight. i have one of your cookie guns that belonged to my mother-in-law. She always baked Christmas cookies with the kids as they were growing up. I want to reach through the computer and get a cookie to go with a cup of hot tea. It brought back alot of memories because my mother also had one. Thanks for the memories. Merry Christmas from Your Missouri Friend.
