Finally a Solution~~~

for our sweet Miss Beazy Lee and the fear, anxiety and nervous episodes in thunderstorms.
Last night we knew bad weather with thunder and lightening were on the way, and of course we are always concern for our little fur baby because she does not like storms of any kind. Normally she just lays with her blanket for being a large breed with lots of fur she would get hot.

But this time, we had an idea to wrap our baby in her favorite blanket anyway to see what she would do. Well, the wrap was the solution. She did great. No shaking, no distress and no fear. She stayed calm and quiet with no panic and running to hide under the bed, tables or behind the sofa. We were just amazed at the difference.

Today my best guy went on line to look for any reports on this being a helpful idea and low and behold he found the info we would have loved to have known long ago.
It seems there is even a company that sell clothing for your fur friend called Thundershirts. Yes, you read it, Thundershirts.
The way they work is to make a layer covering between the fur and the static electrical effects that storms create and our pooches fill in the air all around them making them very anxious.
Of course not all dogs are affected, but many are and this may be a helpful solution for many of you too.

What have we got to lose by wrapping our little babies in there favorite blankies or putting on a t-shirt, maybe even purchasing the Thundershirt.

Miss B is modeling her own t-shirt in chocolate brown and pink along with her pink shabby blanket, her favorite that she loves and naps with everyday. Not sure we have to order a Thundershirt since she has done so well with her own attire.

Hope this info helps others that may be facing this same thing during severe rain storms. We never knew that relief for our sweetie was just a blanket wrap or T-shirt away.

Till next time, Have a blessed Sunday.
Miss Beazy feels blessed as she is wearing her T-shirt and is calm as can be with our rain today.

Oh Miss Beazy... you look adorable! Love how all our fur babies have their favorite blankies... Tessy has to have hers at all times, it is a Snoopy blankie I made her... she hates storms too, but always calms down when I cover her up in her blankie as well... I have heard of Thundershirts but never checked them out... a treat usually calms Tessy down too... wonder if it is a scam???... love to you and darling Miss B, xoxo Julie Marie and Tessy

Hi Miss C,
I am so glad you found a solutions for you furry love! She is so precious.
Google is becoming like..my best friend, for information..my girlie kitty is licking her underfur so bad that her tummys almost bare....google gave me a few ideas to check out. Our other fur baby boy, slinks down to the basement at the first sign of storms..so we always know they are coming. Our animals are amazing huh?

Just heard that the baseball game is cancelled due to weather...hopefully Miss B will feel very safe today.

Be blessed as you have blessed me!

I have heard about those t-shirts for the dogs...we have so few thunderstorms here...I don't think Bentley cares...everything else bothers him!!

Look at sweet Miss Beazy Lee!! She's styling! I am so glad this helps her and I am going to see if this will work for my Labrodoodle. He weighs 95 pounds and is a huge mess when it storms (or rains for that matter). If it rains or storms one of us has to sit with him to keep him calm or he will try to climb up on anything he can climb on and poo! I am going to look at the thunder shirt!

Love,
LuLu~*xoxo

Ah, she's a sweetheart! I know she must fill y'all's home with alot of fun and laughter.

It's amazing, isn't it, how anxious our sweet pooches can get during thunderstorms. Actually, our Ginger is afraid of many things, not just storms. Wild wind...the loudness of the garbage truck, the smoke alarm accidentally going off. We usually just hold her tightly (she's only 15 pounds) until the scary noises/events are over. But she has a favorite blanket...I wonder if she would enjoy being wrapped in it when she gets scared. We'll have to try it.

Blessings and hugs,
Patti

Dearest Celestina Marie,

That sounds like a real solution. Guess they do sense a lot more than humans do and if this calms them down; great!
Love to you and enjoy your week. Wish we got a thunderstorm too!

One of my 2 cats is petrified, so during storms I wrap her head and all in a blanket, I know it works, but had no idea why...Oh, our poor babies

Awww, the poor sweety that she's so afraid with that kind of weather! It cuts my heart in two seeing an animal afraid or suffering! So clever of you to cover her with her blanket and so wonderful that that helped! And of course only in the USA there are special shops for thundershirts LOL. I hope the sky is clear again over there! ;-)

What a great idea. Thank you. I am going to tell my mom & dad about this because their animals freak out whenever there is a t-storm which we get quite often.

Such sweet pictures! I purchased the Thundershirt (in pink of course) for Miss Phoebe a few months ago. She could care less about noise or thunder but she gets severe separation anxiety. The fit and comfort of the little Thundershirt definitely calmed her and made her feel better. I wouldn't say it worked 100% but it did help. So happy your little Sweetie is getting some relief.
Take care,
Holly

What a relief! I am so glad that your little darling is much happier now. I am so grateful that the two dogs we have now don't mind storms, thunder or fireworks. However, Harry, our previous dog was always scared stiff of thunder and fireworks and would hide in a corner, shaking and shivering, even when we tried to make him comfortable with blankets etc. It made us feel so helpless.

Miss Beazy does look so chic with her shirt and blankie. I would not have known a blankie would help calm in a storm. With my BooBoo kitty I know holding her tightly in my arms really helps her. Of course right now she is napping on her heating blankie because it is very cold here and raining. We do take very good care of our fur-children...

that is so amazing! Wish I had known that when I had a dog. I will pass that along to my sister who has a very nervous golden. So simple, yet not too many people are aware of this.

Oh, your dog is so sweet. Our dog used to get anxious whenever he would hear the fireworks go off. We just have to comfort them, don't we? The blanket is a good idea. I'll have to tell Nel about it. She's the one with the precious dogs. Have a lovely week.

Hi Celestina Marie,

Oh poor sweet Miss Beazy and so glad that you were able to comfort her with a blanket wrap and sporting her cute T-shirt.
Fireworks and thunderstorms do really upset animals when they don't know what is happening.

Hugs to you both
Carolyn
