In The Off Hours~~~

This time of year, after a day of decorating, painting, creating and more, I love to settle in for the evening with something in my lap to create. Hand stitching, crewel work, crochet or snuggling with Miss B. This new year finds me beginning a new crocheted lap throw in a very light pink and my signature broomstick lace pattern. This one is a smaller size and perfect for a light, but yet warm cover.

The fun part of this project is the fantastic tote I found some time ago to carry and hold my crochet throws while working on them. I love this one because the yarn can stand up saving room and the outside has plenty of slots for all your tools. It also works as a garden tote for tools and more. And, zips open to turn inside out so the slots for tools are in the inside if you choose. Wish I could remember where I found this little gem. More then likely one of the art shops I frequent.

Anyway, here are a few pics of this tote and my current throw.

This soft pink pretty will be in my etsy shoppe soon.
Are you working on a lap project too? Keeping busy in the off hours?
Thank you for stopping by and your welcome visit.

Have a wonderful winter day.

Creative Dreams,
Celestina Marie

I have 3 crochet projects going. I can't seem to do just one at a time. I go with my mood. I have never done a granny square project and that is one of my projects now, I am thoroughly enjoying it! Your lacy throw is lovely. Beautiful pattern.

Oh how pretty! Beautiful pattern that is! Just like you i'm crocheting in the evenings when comfortable snuggled into the couch. Currently i'm working on a crocheted handbag with black and bright coloured flower patches. The base is almost ready, but then I want to embellish it as well with sequins and laces etc. Enjoy your beautiful works!

It looks wonderfully soft. I don't crochet...pouting here....but I used to counted cross stitch. It got hard to see so I don't do that either. I should learn to crochet!

Dearest Celestina Marie,

That is a very special crochet stitch you are using! The tote is so handy and keeps things neat and clean. Is the material wool or is it a synthetic yarn? You crochet so perfect and even...
Love to you,

Mariette

Celestina, you are one talented lady! That is a beautiful throw. I can't crochet. I tried to learn once and that was a disaster LOL. I sew but could never get the crochet thing down.
Happy New Year sweet friend!

How beautiful Marie, I am such a fan of pink as you are too. I remember my Mom crocheting the broomstick pattern for throws. I am knitting a scarf at the moment, as I too like to keep the hands busy. TTFN

Hi sweet friend,
Your pink throw looks so soft and ready to cuddle with.
I have only knitted a throw about 35 yrs. ago. I have done needle work but not for awhile. Ceekay just found one I did for her some 30 yrs.ago that was packed away and forgotten about. lol She had to call and ask if I was the one that did it.
I still have to be doing something in the evenings. It could be anything from painting to sewing or businesss things. I like to multitask, for sure.
Hoping your yeaar is off to a great start!
Hugs!

Beautiful design, Celeste. It reminds me of my wonderful Great Aunt who knitted or did crochet all the time. I miss her so much and I know that she would have been busy making something pink for the twin grand~daughters due in April/May. You are a lady with many talents! I crocheted one blanket for my best friends daughter, but that was many years ago!
Blessings,
Cindy

Oh my, Celeste, it's lovely! It looks like a cloud! You DO have "the touch" with a crochet hook and stitches.

Yes, I'm working on an afghan too - for my daughter - in red, white, black and gray and a zebra-striped yarn. She has a Parisian theme in her apartment and uses lots of reds and blacks - very "now". It's for a full-size bed and getting quite heavy on my lap. ;-)

I hear you are finally getting some RAIN!!!!! I hope you have a pretty umbrella!

Hugs, Diane

Bonjour mon ami! Your are one creative soul! and busy one too! I wish I would have learned to crochet, knit etc. (my Mother is wonderful with the needles,) - when my arm would have allowed that sort of movement. Maybe, I will give it a try .. who knows.

I'm certainly swooning over your soft pink pretty!!! It looks magical! Thank so much for your visit and sweet words. It would have been wonderful to live in the time of MA. Blessings, HHL

Girlfriend, I don't think you have any "off" hours! LOL This is just going to be a gorgeous throw! I'm enjoying using my grandmother's blue/white throw this winter. Nothing better than cozying up with the pups with a throw in front of the fire!

Ya gotta be sittin' down to have a lap or a lap project. There's a runnin' joke 'round the Ponderosa about my spare time. Heehehehe!!1

I love both your tote and that pretty soft pink lovely your workin' on.

Celeste, your little fingers must never rest. :) I used to crochet a lot...I miss it. This tote holds everything you need quite nicely. With working in the corporate world now, it leaves me little time to do anything creative and I miss it sooooo. On my down time, I spend with my husband and grandchildren...and antique shop when I'm not keeping up with laundry and housekeeping chores. I look forward to my retirement years so I can do what you do full time. It just seems like SO much fun.
Hugs,
~CC Catherine
