Project Check List and All it's Parts~

January brings lists for me. Lots of "to do" lists with home projects to start or complete.

Once the Christmas decorations are put away, all the dozens of plastic tubs full, labeled and neatly stacked in the attic,  I pull out my list and begin.

Before the holiday, I finally repainted another room.  I love the color I used called Heirloom Lace and after two coats with primer, it was complete.

Now was the time to decorate. The fun part. Using what I have part. Repainting some treasures part and reflecting on the past as I remember where and when I found some of the pieces that will continue to live in this room part.

First off,
this room has been cottage white for many years,
but I went a bit lighter for the walls and lightened up the accessories too.

The dresser was a great find from an antique shop in Indiana.

I have always loved the tilted mirror and the distress.

The weather is really cold,

but the fresh linens give inspiration for

 warmer days to return.
This wardrobe was found in an old downtown antique shop in the early 90's.

I loved that shop, but it has gone out of business.

I painted this treasure an antique ivory white and added a cascade of roses.
It's all in the details for the cozy part,

and reflecting on wonderful memories for the

 heartfelt part.
Now I want to be a guest in this room.

Do you?
Are you working on a project check list?

You probably realize by now, I am never finished with my redesigns. I know you do the same!

But that's the fun part right?

Let's see, what else is on my list?

Oh yes, can't wait to start some more painting.

What are you working on this winter?

I have more to share while on my shoppe break.

So much for the rest I thought I would take.

See you soon.

Have a great weekend.

Celestina Marie

Your guest room is lovely. As I was making my bed this morning, I thought that I might want to do a redo.

But, I just talked my husband into putting a butcher block top on a cabinet in our kitchen (he does the cooking so it is for his benefit) so I am looking on-line for scrolled iron brackets to do some shelves.

Isn't it just fun to have a project in the works?

Oh yes...I want to be a guest in your beautiful room!!
Now that our kitchen is pretty much done...we are ready to tackle the living room. Painting some pieces white in there and putting up a new wallpaper board that looks like white weathered wood.

Just lovely, Celeste, and the white makes it feel so calm and serene! I was a blank on upcoming projects but they are starting to fill my head now. I've got a few thrift store finds from before the holidays that will be made over. Plus, I'd like to do something in our small entry.

I would love to be a guest in your guestroom!! It is so soft and pretty! Love the linens...love linens anyway, but yours are so girly pretty..We are in the throes of cleaning, drawers, closets, cupboards etc. My major project is to make the basement kid friendly, so my grands can play down there. I am going to be moving some furniture to different rooms to create a new look without buying anything. Painting the kitchen and living room would be a maybe this winter also....Lots to do...would like to wrap it up by Easter! LOL!

Hi Celeste!

I would sure love to be a guest in ANY of your guest rooms! Love how you painted your wardrobe. So fresh and feminine. And the dresser is wonderful, old mirrors are so cool. The details really make the room don't they? You are so good at it!

We are working on repainting our liv rm in the same blue as the din rm. I have a project list in my studio longer than the Dead Sea Scrolls. I'm going to plan much better this year.

I've been very bad over the holidays and had to do something so I joined Weight Watchers on line and have lost 6 lbs the first week. WOO HOO!! I'm celebrating but not with food.

Lots of love! Sherry
