Just a Little Side Table

My neighborhood had our annual springtime garage sale
two weekends ago~
and I found the perfect vintage side table to go next to our reclining love seat.

These recliner sofas are so comfortable,
but when I sit there,
I tend to drift off to dreamland in no time flat.
The side where I sit needs a table.

*****

Now the only thing about these sofas, they have to be a little distance from your coffee table
so the foot rest can come up and recline.

Thus the need for another small table for one side.
Being near the door, I am limited to the type of table.

This little one was perfect.

So I hand painted it an ebony black
right over it's original dark walnut stain.
I painted it black for a little accent as this room
has white cottage pieces with neutrals and black
and a bit of aqua for color.

Next, I added an iron gate design
using a large stencil
and cottage white paint to the table top.
With a little distress around the edges, sealed
with a water based varnish, it's complete.

Perfect for it's new spot.

Cup of tea anyone?

How about  relaxing with a movie?

Pretty French pillow with the Eiffel tower in silver.

Cozy spot to relax.

Gotta run,
My tea is getting cold,
and we are having a cold spell in Texas.

What happened to springtime?
Hurry back spring~~~~

Thank you for stopping by.
*****

Have a great weekend.

Smiles,
Celestina Marie

What a great little table, Celeste! It looks like it fits that spot perfectly for you. I have our community yard sale today and tomorrow. In fact, I'm off to get ready shortly to head out. Hoping to find some great pieces for my booth.

Love your table, Celestina Marie. My daughter inherited one just like it from her grandfather. He first stripped the paint from it, then stained and sealed it. The detailed edges just pop. It certainly is a treasure.

Your Springtime found Indiana and you can have back now. We went from comfort to 88. I just can't do it. Yuck. I do so love these tables that look split down the middle. They can go anywhere and just the right touch to an otherwise empty spot. Well done Ms. C. Hugs. Tammy

What a great redo, Celestina! Your stencilling is amazing! All of your spring weather has moved up here, we've been in the 80's the last few days! I have that exact same toile mug:) Love your Eiffel Tower pillow!!

Dearest Celestina Marie,
Lovely side table and I love the final photos where you put the tea cup and teapot for creating that home look. About that cold spell; I could not believe it when we got home from our tropical Curaçao vacation! Hard to adjust to. Our workers could not even start on the roof; due to the bad weather so we're running way behind schedule. Never mind, come Father's Day for sure it will feel better!
Hugs,
Mariette

The perfect size! You surprised me...I expected you to paint it white. Very creative and pretty to add the white design to the top.
