Keeper of Prayers

If there was a keepsake box
for the keeping of prayers~

It might be hand painted in a soft light tan
with white stripes on the sides.

This box would have the word
Prayers painted on the lid.
Cottage roses would be painted in soft pink
 with light aqua filler flowers
 trailing to one side.

A keepsake box that would tie
with vintage ribbon and lace trim.

One that would open to find
a sweet bird watching over the contents
while she tends to her nest.

A place to hold letters and keepsakes,
prayer lists and dreams.
A holder for wishes and hopes,
forever!

Yes, if there was a keepsake box,
I'd paint it this way and place
it on the shelf

Have a wonderful November weekend.

Hugs,
Celestina Marie

Celestina,
Your Prayer Box is so pretty. I like the pink roses on it, and especially the sweet bird inside. What a nice idea this is. I have a metal box that I keep all my special notes, cards, and keepsakes in. It is a simple one, but filled with many treasures inside.

Have a nice Autumn weekend.

Love,
~Sheri

I have a memory box that I keep letters and cards in, not as pretty as the one you've painted though. I've not thought about keeping prayers in it too, what a nice idea!

Perfect! one Sunday our pastor told us about his grandfathers wooden box with the date 1909 on the top. After he died, our priest asked for that box and took it home, sanded it and sealed it. From that day on, he has placed lovingly all those funeral prayer cards we get all the time and never know what to do with. In that way, he prays ove the box and everyone who has passed will be remembered. He has since started to fill a second one!
When I taught religious ed. I had a prayer jar....I like your box so much more!!

Hello dear Celestina Marie
How lovely to see you are back - I thought you had taken a break from blogging.

We all need a prayer box and yours is an especially beautifully painted one of course!

I would keep my precious pieces in it like my Prayers for Special Intentions.

Take care and hugs
