Mantel Changes

In my last post
I shared
a few living room changes.
You know the décor
redo's that we love to restyle after the holidays.

Recently in our family room/library,
I changed the mantel top
and wall décor.

This room is so hard to photograph.
It's either too bright or too dark.
But here goes~~

The angle pic shows better with the light.

To the top of the large
Tuscan countryside framed piece,
I added this finial painted honeysuckle bloom.
The vases to one side
bring in a bit of wintertime color.
The vase with my dried garden hydrangeas
is a gift from my son.
The framed pic in the center
is actually a card I purchased from our
anniversary stay at Hotel Del Coronado last summer.
To the left side
I have a trio of vintage school books
and topped with a wire birdcage and wood birdie inside.

The mantel runner is a gorgeous piece created by my grandmother
many years ago.
She crocheted the pretty edging
on a beautiful brown textured fabric.

It's the perfect size for the mantel top.

To each side I hung
coordinating floral prints under glass.
These were on the other end of the room,
moved them here
and love the look.

Well that's it for today.
Another room with a few changes.
Have you been doing this too?

Have a wonderful winter day.

See you next time.
Hugs
Celestina Marie

It looks really wonderful, you have so much talent for decorating. I would like to do a bit here, too, but first I have to clear away everything that shouldn't be lying around, and that could take time! Hugs, Valerie

Hi Celeste!

The scarf strip your grandmother did the crochet work is so special! The color is perfect, can go with any colors. You did an amazing job with all your special treasures coming together so naturally. The vase from your son is so classy... good taste!

We're only doing what we have to since it's been so cold but today we're having a heat wave, up to 25!

Stay warm & safe! love & hugs, Edie

You are on a roll with your redecorating projects, Celestina! I am totally in love with that gorgeous placed on top of your Tuscan print! I thought it was part of the actual frame at first. What a terrific idea, I will have to borrow it if you don't mind:) I also love that sweet little birdie beneath the
wire cage. And the treasures like your grandmas crocheted runner and the pretty vase from your son make it extra special!

Hello friend. Thank you for visiting and gracing my table with your kindness. It's always so good to hear from you.
I'm all caught up with your posts now, and as usual, I absolutely love every detail. Your mantel is gorgeous and I love all the winter decor changes throughout your home. As far as your latest shop items, my heart skipped a beat when I saw the love letters. I'm actually working on some for a Valentine tag, but nothing close to these beauties. I'm always so attracted to love letters, maybe because this technology of ours has made them practically non-existent. I think there's nothing like a handwritten note.
Loved stopping by today, Celeste.
Have a beautiful day.

That runner, crocheted by you grandmother, is so special. It looks lovely on your mantel, but the story behind it makes it even more lovely. What a pretty vase your son gave you, and I love the idea of framing a card. I always love when I make a change, and everything feels fresh and new. Have a great weekend. laurie

Love it! I especially love the mantel cover by your Grandmother... so many designer rooms these days, so "styled"... this room is every bit as stylish as them but it has soul - it has heart, a history and love - beautiful!
I haven't done anything myself yet, but I have been pondering...

Celeste,
You make it look so easy to rearrange and recreate using your beautiful treasures.

Right now we are setting up our home. My new art room is the most finished room, so I have begun painting again. I can't wait for some new furniture to arrive. We left our home pretty much the way it was, and I'll visit in two weeks, just in time to decorate our home in Massachusetts for Spring.

I have a feeling I won't have to decorate for Spring here in North Carolina. I am so excited about the Wisteria.

Thank you for your beautiful words on my post. You always know the perfect thing to say to lift my spirits.

Have a beautiful weekend.

Celestina,
The painted bloom above the picture is so pretty and unique - I love that! And the little wire bird cage is sweet. I love birds and have many items with birds on them like cups, frames, and even candles. Your mantel is looking very nice with all your lovelies on there. It's nice to change things around every now and then, isn't it?

Love,
~Sheri
