Creating Fabric Rag Flowers

Hi Friends~
When I traveled recently on my junkin trip
I kept creating and designing by sewing these rag flowers
to decorate and embellish future projects.
Easy and quick using scraps I have on hand.
You start  with torn fabric strips about 12 " long and 2 1/2" wide.
Taking a running stitch along the edge to gather
and sew together to form the base.
You can layer these by tearing wider or thinner strips.

Centers are accented with lace, buttons, vintage jewelry and more.
The backs are finished with circles cut from felt or heavier fabric.
You can also add ribbon for leaves or use silk leaves to the back.
Here are a few more complete and ready to use in a project
or decorate a wrapped gift.

This next one is created using cotton gauze
and an large earring part in the center.

This one below is just lace with a rolled gauze flower
and a paper flower for the center.

Easy, fast and fun.

Thank for stopping by.
Hope you are enjoying the start to spring
in your area.

See you soon and till then,
Southern DayDreams be yours.

They are just beautiful, Celestina! Thanks so much for sharing the how-to's! I'm not much of a sewer, but I can sew a straight stitch, so I'd love to try my hand at these:) The cotton gauze ones are my very favorite! Have a great weekend!

You always have the prettiest little projects going on. I love the simplicity of these flowers that turn out to be gorgeous creations.

I almost never do any hand sewing...I'm more a sewing machine fanatic! In the past I've created Wedding Gowns and everything...almost all done without a needle and thread in my hand!! LOL!

I finally was able to get my I ♥ Shopping post up and running about 10 minutes ago...all kinds of troubles with Blogger lastnight and this morning. Phew!

Hugs,
Jan ♥

They are very pretty, Celeste! A good use for those fabric scraps I always tend to have left over. Usually there is not much you can do with them, but this would probably work!
