Painted Vintage Side Table

First off, I have to tell you~~~~
The Kitchen cabinets are completed.
It took me 3 days from start to finish.
Painted, Sealed and Finished.

However, I don't have pics to share yet, but I will soon.

Today I want to share this sweet vintage side table I found a few months ago.

When I saw this little gem at one of my favorite antique markets, it just had to come home with me.
With a flip open top for storage, it is built very sturdy and the perfect size.

I knew it would be right at home in my sitting room.
So out with the chalk paint and the makeover began!
I used Lace, by DecoArt.
It is one of my favorites colors now. Not a true white, more like a soft vanilla ice cream.

Here it is now.
I was going to add more details on the skirt, but decided less was more and with a little distress and the natural aging on the edge, it's perfect.

Look at the light crackle that happened on the edge.

I added a glass knob to the table front.

When I found the table, I also found this beautiful little candy dish.
Pure joy!

I left the aqua accents to the mix for summer and painted this little birdhouse.

In my recent post for this room you saw black accents in here.
Since then I moved the black rug, tables and accents to the library and here is the new look.
I am loving the tone on tone of whites and creams,
and the best part~
I found this gorgeous rug with that combo too.

Have you painted any furniture lately?
Have you tried DecoArt Chalk Paint?

Thank you for stopping by.
I love it when you visit and leave a few words.

See you soon with some kitchen pics!

Before I go, I have to share my gorgeous jewelry win

Gorgeous blue earrings and bracelet set in gold with crystals and beads.
and this beautiful rose, pearls and pink crystal set.
Thank you Jan,
I love them both and so excited to have won.

Hugs,
Celestina Marie

The table looks so pretty after you have painted it. I have to say it looks exactly like a table that one of my Moms friends had and she would keep her yarn in it by her livingroom chair.

Hi Celeste! Oh, that little table turned out just charming and looks wonderful in the setting! The candy dish is so pretty too. You have been one busy little gal getting your kitchen finished in 3 days! Superwoman! I can't wait to see it.

Love that little table. So neat that is has that little cubby for storage. I have a thing for small tables. If they're a good price I just can't leave them there. No idea where I'm going to put them, but gotta have it! LOL Your makeover is so dreamy. Love the way you have decorated your room. Someday if all my kids are gone, probably never, due to their disabilities (but I can dream ;) ) I would love to decorate with whites. So inviting and embracing.
Hope you have a great day and your arms aren't too tired from painting the cabinets!

Your little side table is so pretty, Celestina. It goes nicely next to the couch. I really like the white color too, it's more of a soft white. The candy dish is so sweet.

Thank you for your comment on my "thoughts" post. It touched my heart, and I appreciate it.

Oh Celeste! Be still my heart! That entire room is dreamy! I am in love with light blues lately and can't wait to have time to paint walls and accents. I am curious about the Deco chalk paint. I *think that is the one I saw at Michaels and was curious. Is that where you found it?
Anyway, as always it's all beautiful!
Let me know about the chalkpaint!

That turned out so cute- I like the crackled edge! Your sitting room is pretty- I guess I've never seen it as a whole! That's a very pretty picture above the sofa and I like how you brought in some aquas. Love the print on the chair and the pillows. I have stained solid hickory kitchen cabinets and vowed to never touch them but if I did it would be some kind of white. Looking forward to seeing what you did with yours!

Dear Celeste! I get your posts through email but they come in very late...I am so excited to see yet another transformation that has taken place in your workshop! The crackle is perfect, and to see the entire room in glorious vintage white (with a great touch of blue) is EXCITING! Great work my friend. I too have been finding some great but small pieces to change. There's just something empowering about taking an object and making it into what you want. This is so fun, to follow you! Anita

The table is gorgeous! And storage too! Love it and the color is pretty. Your makeover in the sitting room is so soft and summer like. I love black accents but sometimes I crave the softness of whites and pastels. Looking forward to seeing your cabinets!!! Have a great weekend!

Oh, you are a brave soul to paint it, Celeste, but then again, you are an extraordinary painter. Along with the tea cart seen in my imaginatory, Mr G found a side table almost identical to yours a few weeks ago. It has the same flip top but also a magazine railing on one side. Now I'll think of you whenever I look at it. :)
Have a lovely weekend, friend.
