Cozy Library Mantel Forest!

Keeping with a bit of simplicity this year,
I chose to create an easy forest display in my library/family room.

This is the room we enjoy movies, reading, watching TV and relaxing year round.

To the mantel I added evergreen trees and a garland of lights.
Oh look, here sits a little fox cuddled by a evergreen tree.
Isn't he cute?

A single silver star tops the tallest tree.

Woodsy Santa carries a tree and trims to share with us right from the forest.

Winter tree limbs bend with snow.

Keeping warm by the glowing fire.

Knit stockings hang on each side in shades of cream and brown with fur and fleece trims.

On the coffee table I have a double nest and twigs that was fashioned on
a deer pelt with greens and berries.
I found this amazing piece of art last year in Roundtop, Texas.
The birds of silver sit in the nests and over look the cloche filled with vintage ornaments.

Snow globes sit about and always ready for a good shake.

Santa reads a story to this little girl.
Perfect for the library.

I didn't place a large tree in this room this year.
I have three others I've shared with you from other rooms.
However, I did add to the book shelves the vintage ceramic tree my mother created back in the 70's.
It's so beautiful and shines with pretty colorful lights and tipped in snow.

Across the room I always open my family bible to the story of the Christ Child's birth.
The bible sits on a Deacon's book stand my dad created for me many years ago.
I add winter pine around the pages open to the pictures of the nativity.

Cozy evenings are spent here by the fire with a little woodland forest theme.

Do you have a favorite spot to enjoy and relax this Christmas?

Wishing you joy filled days as we approach Christmas.

See you next time with a few hand painted Santa's from the past.

Hugs,
Celestina Marie

Celeste, you're so very right...cozy is the word. It's beautiful and the little fox is charming, reminding me of London. The open Bible is always appropriate; Merry Christmas!

Oh Celestina, it is always such a joy and delight coming over to your place for a visit.
Always, everything is just lovely! Your husband must LOVE coming home to the beauty and love that you grace upon your home.
Your header is as beautiful as the rest of your home. I especially love the huge tree in the center picture.

I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful and elegant home.

Blessings my friend.

Hi Celeste! Oh, another beautiful area of your home all Christmased up! Everything is so pretty. Now, I've been on the lookout for one of those little ceramic trees that was your mothers! It's a really pretty one! Christmas is almost here, sweet friend.
Be a sweetie,

Good morning beautiful! You have every room of the house ready for bright cheer. I don't know how you do it all! We had so much fun (but are sore today) from going up and down ladders in order to reach the 15 foot ceiling beams to paint! They are done, and it took us from 10:00AM to 8:00PM last night to get them done, but they are the way I wanted them: white, distressed, perfectly rustic!

Isn't it fun to create for the holidays? May your Sunday be happy and bright! Anita

I love it, Celeste! Such a great idea and it fits on your mantel perfectly. I have a narrow mantel here (I had two big ones at our old house) so it is always a challenge for me to decorate it without having it look overcrowded. Love that little fox, too.

Beautiful and cozy! That fox is my favorite! Our great room is where we are most of the time in the evenings. It's a blend of a media and living room.

What a pretty and cozy-festive room, Celestina! That little fox is just adorable, and I love the cloche with vintage ornaments. The Tuscan hillside painting makes the perfect backdrop for your wintery trees! Oh, and I love vintage script the runner on your coffee table!

A beautiful room and so cozy and warm. The ceramic tree is really a treasure as is the stand your dad made. I adore the Santa figurine reading to the child. Wishing you JOY this Christmas.

p.s. forgot to say that I love that cute fox. At the home we shared with mom, we had 2 1/2 acres near a creek. We had a variety of wildlife, including a fox who would come every spring to have her babies in our wood pile!!!

It all looks so cozy and comfortable Celeste. I love all the green trees you've decorated your mantle with and that little fox is too cute! We eliminated our family room tree this year also. The older I get the less Christmas decor I put up... I guess I've wised up after all these years and realize I've got to take it down eventually!! Thanks for the great tour through your sweet home. I love every inch of it!

Love, hugs & blessings, Edie
