Welcome Winter Whites

When you enter my cottage home, you are greeted by my hand painted white curio cabinet in the entry.

The color is a shade of antique cream and the same
shade I used on the kitchen cabinets when I painted those
last spring.
.
I have loved this piece for 20 years and have filled it in many different ways and with many unique treasures.
Presently, I am so enjoying my pretty whites on display.
With springtime on the way, it is light, fresh and reflective.
Above the curio, on the wall,
I display my cross collection and the word faith,
which always stays aglow from the light coming through the window.
Inside are special treasures from family and friends.
Great Grandpa's pocket watch in a white base cloche, still set on the time he passed away.
It will forever be kept at this time.
Behind is a vintage platter along side a pretty white creamer.
I love the tones and different shades of white.
Hand Painted white birds sit atop a vintage white cook book of Miss Gimble's desserts and sweet winter plate just behind.
Small sewing drawer filled with white roses
on a book box with vintage platter.
Beloved white pitcher and bowl,
hand created by my dear mother in 1980.

Italian made pitcher with a black and white cow.
Love this treasure!
Favorite treasure from a friend.

A reminder of the blessing
of special friends.

Near the bottom is a big eyed owl, Eiffel  tower
and many other sweet treasures.

Thank you for stopping by~
Wishing you a great weekend.

~Be Blessed~

Good Morning Celeste!

Your whites are so refreshing and easy on the eye. I love to see cabinets in white or black. Your antique cabinet is gorgeous! It has such beautiful lines.

Love love love your Grandfather's pocket watch in the cloche!! It reminded me that I purchased a small cloche for my Dad's pocket watch during the holidays to display it. My son, Russ, took the watch to a watchmaker and it was not repairable but is so beautiful.

Thanks for all the inspiration Celeste!

Love & blessings, Edie

Oh Celeste, it is so fun to receive your post via email so early in the morning. Your faith wall is such a great idea. I think many of us need to have a space where we display concrete events that remind us of prayers answered, goals attained. Our lives and how we live them are the proof that faith has results. What a gorgeous white cabinet, and I love your grandfather's watch...and your mother's pitcher? SHE MADE THIS? You inherited gifted hands my friend. HAPPY WEEKEND! Anita

I just love all of your white treasures in your pretty curio hutch, Celestina! My very favorite is your great grandfather's pocket watch. My dad used to use one of those too. I'm trying to convince hubby that our hutch, which is very similar to yours, would look so much better painted creamy white!

I've thought about painting my corner curio white many times, Celeste. Right now it is still the oak as we got it. I'm not sure how the hubby would feel about my painting it, although I think that one day I am just going to do it. I saw my same curio on another blog and someone had painted white. It looked pretty good so I at least have some idea of how it would turn out. Yours is so pretty!
