Good Fences

Today I'm sharing what I see as a
"gorgeous good fence"

From a distance it looks like there is no inside wire between the top rail and wood squares.
Love the roof line of the house peeking over the bushes.

Wondering what this farmhouse looks like.
Love the overgrowth, but it hides the house.
It doesn't look like anyone lives here
 behind this "gorgeous good fence."

Do we see a shadow in the rooftop window?
Oh maybe not.

I think this photo would make a good painting too.
I am inspired to paint this one.

I'll let you know if that happens.

Thank you for stopping by.

Pretty house. I would love to get a closer look. This is a fence that gives privacy but somehow doesn't really make one feel shut out.

That's a serious fence. A good fence to keep Dobermans in. The shrubs make me curious to know what's behind them. Beautiful, intriguing.

I agree, this would be "a good painting"! It's lovely! I often wonder about the story of older homes and who once lived there. Hummm, a shadow in the top window- there does appear to be something! Have a wonderful Thursday!

My guess is someone likes their privacy! ;)

Good morning Celeste!

I would love to see you paint this! And I know you could. There are such gorgeous places out there that have been abandoned and left standing (or partially standing) for us to admire and wonder what it's story was. I think it's so special to extend their story a bit further though art.

Love & hugs & blessings, Edie

Love the house behind the fence, too! Hope to see you paint it! Hugs, Valerie

I wonder what they were trying to keep out...cattle? Smaller at the bottom, but up off of the ground so anything smaller could crawl right under...so not keeping anything inside the fence. Strange to put so much money in a fence like that and then abandon it. It would keep deer out of the garden. We have that problem here in the country.

Celestina, I love that fence. You are right that it is a perfect photo for an artist. I can not wait to see your finished painting on this photo.

Aw...doesn't this make you a little sad to see a sweet little place that looks neglected like this? If that house could just tell us her story! The fence looks good though. Hope you're doing well and thank you always for being such a good blog friend.
You're always a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

When I see a home like this it kind of makes my heart hurt a little, ya know? Perhaps the person is elderly and is not able to keep the natural fence trimmed...I am trying to imagine how beautiful it would be to have everything trimmed up, with curtains to the windows, windows raised a bit with a breeze blowing the curtains. I truly enjoyed your post, dear one, and I do hope you paint this one!

It is an inspiring place to paint, do share if you do too. I like to imagine or actually catch those hidden figures in the windows, peeking out! Sometimes around a few select neighborhoods folks do put things in the windows, just for those of us who always look up! Someday I shall post a collection of those finds again!

What a beautiful old house, Celestina. It would be a shame if it was abandoned. It looks kind of mysterious behind that fence and all of the overgrown trees. Hope you are having a good week!

I would like to see the inside and what the house looks like from the outside.

This would make a wonderful painting. Is there anything you can't do??? Please say yes so I don't feel inadequate, LOL

That is a great fence. I do like the over grown bushes and the colors of this shot look pretty. I think it would make a very nice painting.

I'm nosy...I want to see what is behind that fence and the overgrowth. Just a little peek of the house would satisfy my curiosity some.

Oooo. I would love to tour this old home....and with this fence, I can just picture a beautiful garden with children at play in the yard. Perhaps the right person will come along and restore everything to it's original beauty... Enjoy the evening...

I think it would make a lovely painting too. I really love the overgrowth. I wish I could train my plants to grow like that.

Excellent choice for a painting I think that looks like honeysuckle growing by the fence. I bet that it's even more picturesque if that was loaded with little flowers. Someone worked hard to build that fence- I like how you can't see the whole house- it makes you imagine for yourself what it looks like.

There is just something about old homes and the fences that surround them!
If they could speak, but we can give them words as A picture is a thousand words!
Every picture tells a story...

I would probably go up to the door and knock and see if anyone is home. Looks so interesting and the fence is great. I think you should paint this wonderful fence and house. You can ask if it is for sale if someone comes to the door.
