White Pickets, A Good Fence!

Welcome to

I suppose I'm on a white picket fence roll with my last few weeks of photos.

This one below is actually just a house down from the one I shared last week.

Looks like the front view with the charming white cottage next door
which looks to be  getting a new privacy fence.
 Will they paint it white?
I'll need to go back to see this spring.

The fence trails all around and the setting so endearing.
I could move right in.

What is it about a white picket fence that we love?
The charm, the peaceful easy going style?
Or is it just the look, the cozy feel and the dream of a home with a white picket fence.
Like an old time movie
when a newly married couple dreamed of a home with a white picket fence.
Is it a symbol of
security?

Many years ago, created by my hubby,
we did live in a farmhouse in Indiana with a back garden that was fenced in white pickets all around.
It was so sweet to view from the house.
It looked just like this one below.

Do you have or had a picket fence?

*************

Thank you for stopping by today.

I'll be taking a little road trip for a few days to celebrate another birthday.
They just keep coming each year whether we like it or not!!

Hope to find more good fences in Texas to share and be inspired.

See you next week.

Be Blessed and have a nice weekend!

I've loved seeing your posts about Picket Fences...and the photos have been beautiful. I've never lived anywhere that had a white picket fence. I love how they look, but really have never wanted one in my yard. The only thing I've really had is my courtyard wall...here at this home. And we were building it already, even before we got our first pup! Glad we were.

Hugs,
Jan

I've often dreamed of a white picket fence too! I remember looking at pictures of old homes with them, sometimes from movies and always thought they looked like the perfect accent with a home.
We are headed to visit my sister for her birthday on Saturday. I hope it warms up a few degrees since it's so darn cold here!
Have yourself a very Happy Birthday!

I love the white picket fences and always wished I had one. I always think of a cozy little cottage with lots of roses and other flowers when I think of picket fences!

We have never had a picket fence but I do love them. They add so much charm. That secondary building is very pretty all rustic. What a neat cottage.

Good Morning...
I want to join you for the rest of this story...You must go back sometime and tell us if they pain the lovely structure {White} to go with the fence. Or...perhaps it is their beliefs that the fence stands out more with the unpainted house in the background. Do let us know..
Blessings...

Hi Celeste!

We had a white picket fence around Wes' rose garden in our front entrance and around my flower garden in the backyard at our family home. The entry to both gardens had an old garden gate from my Uncle's home. Always made me feel warm and fuzzy! I have one of those gates mounted to our patio fence at our condo with herb pots hanging from it. I love using those kind of touches.

Great post! Sending you lots of love & hugs, Edie

I love white picket fences around homes and gardens. If were to stay here I would replace our metal fence with one.

I love white picket fences! I don't have one at the house, but would love to add a small one around my potting shed. There is something that makes them so endearing!

Happy Birthday, sweet Celeste! I do think the old movies enforced the romance of the picket fence. this is a good one. Have a wonderful road trip.

Happy Birthday and may all your wishes come true.
I do love picket fences. The first thing I did when I purchased my little cottage was paint it yellow and put up a white picket fence. It lasted about 15 years and it needed to be torn down, but I really loved it. With the roses growing all over it was breath taking.

That fence is so pretty and brought back many memories of my fence.

When I was small, we lived on Lilac Lane...loved that name...and we had a white picket fence that held a large back yard with roses, lilacs and the biggest old willow tree. That old tree hid my swingset from view. I loved that yard...
Have a great weekend!

We live on a corner lot and we have a white privacy fence. It's picket like but you can't see through it. It was the best money we ever spent. I love my white fence :) I love your photos too Celestina! Definitely a good fence!
