Good Fences

Welcome Friends
to another
Thursday
for

This is a "two for"
in one photo.
Barbed wire meets white pickets!

When I met this fellow,
I was glad this good fence was between us.

He acted friendly enough,
but I am wise enough to know my place.

He studied me for some time before walking off.
I guess he realized I was just there to admire his beauty
and respect his purpose.

Thank you for letting me take your photo
Mr. Longhorn.
Have a good day in your Texas pasture.

See you next time.

Love the combination of fences! Mr. Longhorn is a handsome fella... I've never really had the 'proper' fear of bulls, probably because my Grandfather's were so tame and gentle we kids would ride on them.

I thank you very much for "just" showing 2 pretty fences and Mr. Longhorn :)
Because I'm still thinking about which of the beautiful homes I'm going to move in :))
Have a beautiful day!

Great picture! Yes it's best to respect them at a distance! I like his coloring/markings and the bit of contrast with the green and tiny yellow flowers.

Wow, you are braver than I am, Celestina! That is one huge longhorn! I think I would have snapped his portrait from the safety of my car:) Hope you are having a good day!

Good Morning, First a belated Happy Birthday. I am a little behind in my visiting. I have enjoyed catching up with you to see what you have been doing. I always love your painting projects. Your longhorn picture is amazing. I would definitely want a good fence too. My oldest is back working in your state for a month. Have a great day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

Great photo! Yes, it's best to be careful around cattle, in general. Longhorns are pretty gentle creatures. They use their horns to push and move things...and, to scratch. But, don't mess with their young or you will witness a fight!! They can be unpredictable, depending on their temperament. Love this photo! Brings back memories.🐄

Celestina,
You are braver than I! I think I would have needed an additional fence between me and Mr. Longhorn, though he is a handsome specimen for sure. Really nice photo!

What a great photo. The Longhorn is very handsome and so cool. Loved that you caught the barbed wire and the white picket fence in the shot and the pretty flowers too. It's a wonderful scene.

I don't know if I've ever told you but I enjoy this series. Beautiful cow, never saw one with the horns. Don't laugh, I don't know if I said that right.

Great picture. I would have kept my distance, too!

While the white picket fence is prettier, I'd definitely feel safer behind the barbed wire! Never trust a bull!

I never expected to see bull on your blog :) I love cows! Every time I go to our yearly South Florida Fair, I must go see the cows in the livestock area.

So wise to stay on the right side of a fence...
I enjoyed this photo, did you take a special trip about your area or travels to find such a great photo?
You always give me the best ideas!

Great photo! Two fences in one photo.
I can remember being out in the field (where I wasn't supposed to be) and seeing the bull across the pasture. He was mean and we were not supposed to be in there. I remember how hard my heart started beating and I walked as fast as I dared back to climb through the nearest fence...hoping I wouldn't attract his attention. I made it....lol Hadn't though about that incident in years.

You are wise to respect animals like that! xo Diana

Celeste,
I think your photograph of Mr. longhorn is splendid. Just a fence in between and you captured his essence and it turned into an amazing "good fences" post.

Thanks for your visit and comment last night. I hope you wore your snow boots! Next week is warming up and the snowstorm I really believe ... Eyes, fingers and toes crossed was the last this season.
Xoxo,
Vera

I bet that fence is a three-fer...it's probably electric. We had to use electric fences for our bulls because wire wouldn't keep them in.
Your photo is wonderful!!!
