Happy Father's Day 2015

Happy Father's Day and all good wishes for a special day
blessed with time to enjoy, relax and reflect.

This day has me missing my own dear Father, but I know he is safe in the arms of our Lord
and I can forever hold close his wonderful memory.

God Blessed me, not only with a dear devoted dad, but a wonderful loving husband,
who is an excellent father as well.

To this day, I gives thanks to the two hero's in my life.

First my Father and then my hubby who I so loving refer to as,
My Best Guy!

Best Friends my dad and I, right from the start.

Sharing a laugh and fun times.

Our Christmas holiday tradition to visit Santa together.

Always working on a project for our home.

Retiring after 33 years with the Ford Motor Company.

Teaching his grandson, my son, how to do some wood working.

Just as My Best Guy has always worked and built our life and home.

Sacrificing to go back to college while working, raising our family and graduating with two degrees.

Happy Times and special memories.

And a proud and faithful Father when our son graduated from college too.

Just as my dad was so proud of him and the wonderful way he has always taken care of our family.

All made possible by the grace of God and HIS prayerful direction.

Two wonderful men blessed from above to be Fathers and Faithful Followers of God.

Happy Father's Day to the great men in my life and to the greats in yours.

The above picture was the last photo taken with my dad.
He would pass away 10 months later, and my dear mother lived only 22 months longer.
Life changed completely from that point on,
but the love and teachings will stay with us forever.
We are so thankful for the memories that sustain us, till we all meet again.

Happy Father's Day to all~

Blessings
Celestina Marie

My dear friend,

I usually get your posts in my email, and I had not received this new post yet; I just saw your dear comment on my post and I wanted to come by to thank you. Now, I see this new message.

Men are awesome. They are of a different sort than us women, but they are AWESOME. Do you know that since I was a little girl, for some ODD reason, every time I used to see an elderly gentleman on the street, I'd cry? teeeheee...don't know why! Then as a young woman, I worked at a nursing home. Good glory, my first day there, I came home weeping. The only way I could explain it was that when I'd see an aged man, even in my youth, a flood of thoughts came into my mind. I would think about the hard work that man probably did to support a family, maybe go to war, maybe face hardships on the job....and then as a teacher, the little boys...they would also pull at my heart strings, knowing that they grow up to maybe be husbands, fathers, important leaders....

All this to say is that the two most important men in my life have been THE BEST providers. My father, just like yours (your dad working at the table with a pipe in his mouth, that was MY DAD TOO!) always had a project up his sleeve. At dinner time, he'd sit there eating and with his other hand, he'd be sketching an idea to later run to his garage workshop to fashion into a wondrous work of art or construction. My husband is the same. He is a Ph.D and can teach, he could have been a great lawyer and is a phenomenal leader. But if I even mention I'd like a new wooden gate or a little wooden sailboat, he is ON IT.....these men, they are blessings. Though my husband is not a father, I can celebrate this Father's Day in the spirit of thanksgiving for the men in our lives who nurture like only a man can.

And like your dear parents, mine could not be alone without the other. This Father's Day marks the 29th year my mother passed, and my father followed her two weeks later. Love can't be separated. It is the great connector of souls.

Peace my dear. Anita

Hello Celestina-Marie, I love those old photos. They are very valuable. It touched my heart very deeply. My father was such a good father - how much I miss him. I was only 26 years old and he is gone out of me and my mother 4 years earlier. When I think about, that makes me very sad!
Hug and a beautiful Sunday

A very beautiful post, Celeste. Your words and photos brought tears to my eyes. The older I get, the more I realize how the Lord blessed me with a wonderful dad (and mom). I think back now and realize it was their prayers who brought me thru the trials of growing up. Like you, life has not been the same since losing my parents but more than ever, I am thankful for my faith and salvation and that I will be reunited with them in Heaven one day. God has also blessed me with wonderful Christian blog friends, like you. Bless your special time with family this weekend.

Your post has touched my heart, Celeste. You have two wonderful men in your life that seem to have taken after your dear father. I know that he and your mother are at peace and you have fond memories. The pictures are so precious---than you for sharing.

I've lost my mother and father...I wish I had more pictures. Amongst seven children---who knows. But my memories are very clear.

Thank you for a sweet, sweet post.

The picture of your dad with the pipe was my favorite. It made me think of my father who always had a pipe in his mouth.

Both of my parents are on the other side, too. You are so right how things change forever when they leave, but they always are there in who you are and the way you think and live out the rest of your days. You have a wonderful family.
