Falling into Autumn Around the House!

Happy First Day of Autumn!
We are all finding inspiration from the many tours around blogland.
It has been a special time to visit and gather ideas.

I've had so much fun visiting friends and I am sure you have too.

Welcome  Friends to my home.

This year I decorated a bit early.
Preparing for a busy season ahead in my shoppe, I wanted to make hay while the sun shined.
When you come in the front door,
this horn of plenty is on the entry table.

This large metal tub has been painted off white with a French graphic.
The little Trick or Treat sign is ready to greet my Halloween visitors.

Keeping things simply with a  less is more plan,
or so I have tried.

Here are just a few of the views around my fall home
starting in the dining room which is just off to the right of the entry.

Several years ago,
I shared the painting of my hutch for a bit of French Country charm.
It is 35 plus years old and I could just not part with it.
Plus I need it to hold my dish addiction~~
So~ since painting furniture is apart of my world,
I gave it an upgrade to black with distress and added wood appliques.

Taking out the door grids on the glass and adding stained glass appliques in black faux leading,
gave it a whole new look and style.

I love blue with it's contrast color of orange.
These candle sticks are simply topped with a pumpkin instead of a candle.

This simply fall display will take us right into Thanksgiving.

To the top, I left my blueware and white roosters in place and just added
a garland of fall leaves.

Looking over the table you can see where I placed the appliques
on the hutch and the door designs on the glass.

To the table,
I added a variety of fall harvest to my long wire flat basket
on a black and white table runner.

Here you can see a better view where I added the wood appliques.

Several years ago I found these velvet shades with gold polka dots and beads.
They work nicely through the winter months, but lately I've kept them on year round.

This is the side buffet I use for serving.
A few fall leaves and a little pumpkin gives a touch of the season without
making big changes.

In the dining room window,
I've placed a crocheted throw and wood tray filled with a variety of
pumpkins to a window bench.

Thank you for visiting my entry and dining room for fall.

Join me next time in the living room.

Have a great September day.
xo

The Fall touches are lovely! Fall is now one of my favorite seasons to add to our home. I love your red truck; it's so cute! Your blue and white china pieces look lovely decorated with the pops of orange! I also love the quilted velvet shades on your chandelier! You have a fabulous Fall home! Thank you for the tour!

Love all this Celeste! I have given way to my fall decorting too. Might as well accept that the season is changing! Your entryway table looks wonderful- love the bottom basket. I just decorated my little plate rack and I have a pitcher that looks like a mate to your teapot but I haven't taken pictures yet. I'm intrigued by the stained glass appliques you added to your china hutch. That's an amazing affect! Love all the blue and white mixed with the orange. Thumbs up for fall!

I loved taking a tour through your entry way and dining room, Celeste. Your pretty vignettes add such a pretty Fall touch to your lovely home. I have that same pumpin teapot! Isn't it sweet? I also love your black painted hutch and the details that you added. I have been wanting to paint my hutch black for several years now, but sanding, emptying it out, and taking off the doors, hardware and glass shelves has deterred me!! Back in my younger years, I'd have it done lickety split!! Maybe one day....
Enjoy your week and thanks for the tour. I loved it!!

I like the autumn spirits in your home Celestina.
Although my favorite season is autumn I never decorated my home in the way you do with pumpkins and leaves everywhere. Sometimes, I buy a bouquet with fall foliage or pick some in the forest but that is all. I just admire nature with its glorious and bright colours that I love above all.
Autumn decoration is just not a french custom I would say.

I wish you a very happy and successful autumn. Helene

You've put me to shame, as I've not decorated for fall a bit, except for the wreath I made! Your faux leaded glass doors are such a great idea, and they look so realistic! I didn't know there was such a thing. Thank you for sharing all of your wonderful and inspiring ideas!!

Beautiful, I love how you dressed up your hutch, so neat to be able to save our much treasured items but to be able to update them with the times is just great! From your entry on through it is just lovely! I too have items that go from my fall right into Thanksgiving so that there isn't as much I have to change around. Love your fall harvest basket with the variety of goodies :)

All your Fall touches look so pretty, Celeste! I hope to share mine soon {once I actually take some pictures!}.

Your hutch looks great in black. It is very similar in size and look to the hutch we had with our dining room set before we moved to Ohio. I gave that set to my daughter and son-in-law, but if it had stayed with me it most definitely would have been painted.

Love your fall decor! I haven't started inside yet. We did the outside yesterday...you need to come by and see. I am so ready for fall. Just waiting for the leaves to start turning, farmers are already in the field and my hubby is seldom seen around here anymore. Tis that time of year! Love the lamp shades...and your painted china cabinet. Love it all!

Hi Dear Celeste! Oh, everything is just gorgeous! Love all of your fallen touches. You know, I just adore how you decorated the top of your china cabinet in your dining room. Mine has a bonnet top and it's so hard to put anything up there that doesn't look crooked! But maybe a garland! Hope you've been doing well. Looks like you're ready for fall - I haven't even started! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Celestina, now I want to paint something black. I love all of the black accents in your dining room, and your Fall décor looks beautiful with the black. I've never heard of faux leaded glass. What a brilliant idea! I also love all of the touches of blue you added to the Fall colors. I looked at each image in this post several times and I may come back to see it all again. Beautiful.
