Rainy Day Creating

We've got rain
lots of it.
Perfect for creating inside!
I shared this rainy day craft last year,
but thought it would be fun to share once again.

What did we do before the Dollar Stores?
On a shopping visit, I found some great little pumpkins
ready to finish with accents and trims.

I had an idea
to decorate a few to display in my vintage Blue Willow cups under cloches
in a corner hutch.

To begin,
I purchased 3 little light weight pumpkins
topped with a fall flower and a few berries.
Cost 3 dollars.
To these I added glitter on the pumpkins in a dot pattern, added old buttons, vintage  lace, paper roses
and glitter outlining the leaves.

Cost, 0 dollars as these were in my crafting stash.

Next I added a little Halloween tag to each
courtesy of
Cost 0 dollars.

Here they are in the cups, under the cloches,
displayed on the hutch,
Cost 0 dollars.

Love the simple uncluttered look.

And for one last Dollar Store Craft.
I purchased a 10 inch grapevine wreath.
Cost 1 dollar.
A garland vine of leaves.
Cost 1 dollar.

Wrapped the vine around the wreath.

Added a little sign repainted from my stash and a few leaves I had on hand.
Cost 0 dollars.
Total cost 2 dollars to complete.
You could add anything you have on hand if you don't paint.
A graphic glued to a piece of wood,
a bow, or maybe a few pumpkin picks.

Here's where I placed my rainy day craft.

These ideas from items purchased from the Dollar stores
are great craft projects for the kids too.
Fun to do on a rainy afternoon.
Great for us big kids too!!

Have you created any rainy day crafts lately?
Have fun.

Thank you for stopping by and your comments.
See you soon.

Happy Creating!
Celestina Marie

So creative to just add some embellishments....and a lot of work! They came out great and look so festive in your hutch. I must go check out the Dollar Store pumpkins before it is too late! I have been busy gluing and painting projects and almost done with that!

I love that you show adorable crafts that can be made from the Dollar Store items, Celeste! Your pumpkins and sign turned out soooo cute, and I especially love the pumpkins in a teacup and under a cloche. They look wonderful in your hutch and the wreath looks so cute hanging on the window on your patio. Thanks for the inspiration! xo

Oh, Celeste, these are lovely. The tags made my heart melt, you know how I love them. It's been too long since I made one, with all the wedding prep and all. I must get back to that soon.
Was fun catching up today.
Thank you for the birthday wishes, love.
Happy Halloween.

We have had rain to, but not the flooding that you have had in Texas. My thoughts and prayers are with those that have lost so much. Your pumpkins are adorable! I love the vintage style cards that you chose to embellish them; each one is so unique! I love the blue and white tea cup under the cloche; it's so pretty! Your wreath is a wonderful accent with the cute sign! You have a lovely Fall home!

You are so creative. I love the little pumpkins in the teacups-that's brilliant. And the fact that everything was from the Dollar store-even better. Thanks for the words of kindness about my son moving-it's so hard, but I'm really excited for his new adventure. Have a great Halloween-more rain to come!

Even though I sometimes complain about a rainy, gloomy day as this one here today, it gives us the chance to recharge, nest and create. Wish I had you wonderful creativity...You turn ordinary into extraordinary!

Gorgeous my dear friend, love the transferware. If you don't mind, where do you purchase yours from, online? I'm on the hunt for a few Christmas or winter pieces and not sure where to look online for the best.

We have just had the rain you all had, but not nearly as much as you did, really feels like fall out there.

These are just the cutest projects and all that from the $ store. You do such a beautiful job of displaying everything too!
I see I need to take a trip there, I haven't been in quite some time, when I first started cardmaking I would buy stamps and supplies there but then my store quit selling that kind of stuff so I slowly stopped going.

Tooo, sweet your touch. Yes, thank God for some rain here also. We seem to either have cracks in the earth or are drowning, but hopefully it all evens out!

Very cute crafts, Celestina! I haven't crafted anything in a coon's age, but it sure sounds like fun. Much more so than my wall painting lol

I loved the tribute to your mom with the apple china. She sounds like she was a wonderful woman.

Beautiful up-cycle of some ordinary Dollar store items. You must have a wonderful Dollar store. I love the blue cups in glass cloches to display the bling pumpkins and tags. As you had flooding rain we actually got a sprinkle today...glorious! Great way to spend a rainy day indoors making beautiful things.
