In Honor of Veterans Day

~Remembering Veterans Day~
In honor of the
many who have
sacrificed for our freedoms,
I have picked my last long stem red
Lincoln roses of the season.
They stand strong and  proud
like the soldiers
that marched into battles
with courage.
Ready to give
nothing but the best.

Detailed and perfect
is their commitments.

Today's young military soldiers
continuing to keep us free.

To the many, like my father who
gave so much in his service to this country.
To the many today that keep us free,
we give our thanks,
our prayers,
our gratitude
for
your bravery.

God Bless You Greatly
this Veterans Day
and beyond!
and
Remember your Green Light for a Vet!

Be Blessed!

Good Moring Celestina Marie, Today is Armistice Day here in England, where we remember those who gave so much for us.
On Sunday we attended a Remembrance Parade, in Newcastle, which was so moving. My husband is an army veteran who served his country for 25 years. We have lost friends in conflicts, but they are always in our thoughts.
We must always remember, we must never forget, because we are the lucky ones.
Best Wishes to you.
Daphne

My father of course was a Vet serving in the Pacific in WWII, and my mom worked in the Hughe's Airplane factory during the war in California. She and 3 friends trekked off in a car at age 19 to move to California and work in the war effort from the Midwest. It was a long 5 years before my mom and dad would meet again after the war and reaffirm their courtship and engagement. Veterans' Day is not just for the Vets, but for whole generations of of people all over the world, that fought/worked/sacrificed for our freedoms. Thanks so much for sharing your last Lincoln roses, how appropos. Sandi

Beautifully written Celeste. I've had family members who have served our country and a family member who died defending our country. For every single proud American who has served and is still serving I give my sincerest thank you to them.

Beautiful post , Celeste. My Dad and Hubby are vets so today is a special day. Love the tomato basil soup recipe from last post. It sounds a little like La Madeline soup. Going to try this one for sure. Have a happy week!

Great tribute for our Veterans. My hubby just recently joined facebook and yesterday he was getting in touch with a lot of the guys he had served with over the years, what great memories of great people we have had the chance to meet over the years, all of them are retired now. Would be great to see them all in person again but it is great how they can all meet up on internet.
