Mighty Mississippi River

Our trip to Mississippi
took us over the bridge of the river.
It makes me nervous going over water, but I did okay.
Even shot a few pics through the raindrops
 before my camera stopped working.

Welcome to Good Fences
and this fence along the roadway on the bridge.

I was glad I got these shots before my camera passed away.

The beams are huge.

After passing here, it poured down raining.

See you next time
with a little home decor.

Oh and I got a new camera
 and we are becoming friends.
So far, so good!

Celeste

I love doing quick drive by shots with my phone, and then seeing if I have anything worthwhile to work with. Sometimes I get a pleasant surprise. Your drive by shots were worth it for sure.

Ooh Celeste, I don't like going over water, either...nor high overpasses, twisty mountain roads...you get the picture!
I'm glad you're getting the hang of your new camera!
Have a beautiful day, sweet friend! xo

These are the type of bridges that create nightmares for me. Tho, living where I am now, it's become a bit more habitual crossing. LOL

I don't like bridges over water either. Just like my grandmother. Once she took her teeth out, got down on the floor in the back seat and took her teeth out. YIKKES!!!!!!!!

Happy (dry) travels.

Glad you are enjoying your camera, Celestina! Going over a long expanse of a bridge in a car doesn't bother me, but when we've gone over them in a motor home, that's when it gets unnerving to me!!

Seeing your photos reminds me how much I love the Mississippi...only been near it/over it a few times. I think the love comes from reading Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn...

I love the Mississippi River! We were in New Orleans a few months ago and it was so foggy and rainy the whole time we were there that you could stand right on the side and not see the river.

It's a small world since we live near the headwaters of the Mississippi River and have made several journeys on the river with our kayaks. I'm sorry to hear about your camera, but I'm sure a new camera will help you get over it quickly!

We have something in common...I have a hard time going over bridges that have water below. I use to close my eyes, but now I can keep my eyes open. However...I'm still nervous until we get over the bridge And when we go south to visit family...we have to go over the Ohio River coming and going!!

It's mighty for sure! The first time I went to see Marie we went over a bridge that was very long. It was raining and it was dusk. The rain created a foggy condition that hovered over the water that made it so eerie. Not many things scare me but I almost freaked out! Very funny now but it wasn't at the time. I can still hear Chrissy chuckling the whole time at this cool cucumber losing it! LOL Love & hugs, Edie

WOW! you have a ton of comments. I too am getting cleaning done and packing Christmas away. In Maine the winter has not started yet only one snow at the coast. The coast is warmer in winter and cooler in Summer. Sometimes the
temps vary 20 degrees from the interior. Beautiful post.

I too have a thing about bridges, especially going over water, we were on one for so long in North Carolina that I couldn't wait to get over and then found out we had to go back over it in the dark to get back, Yikes!
Glad you were able to get some neat pictures before your camera died. Good luck learning your new camera :) and have a wonderful weekend!
