Winter Weekend

Hi Friends!
Do you feel like January is the "in between" month?

The time between holidays and the countdown to spring?

Perhaps you are already counting the days till spring.
It's been a mild winter for us here in Texas.
January is half over already!!

For most, we are already tired of the cold~
even though it has barely shown it's fury.

As I look out the kitchen window,
 it looks sunny,
but the air is expected to turn very cold this weekend.

I know many of you are having much colder temps
which makes our weather seem
like a heat wave.

I like to enjoy the cozy time "in between" at home.

The last of the glitter is vacuumed away
and Christmas decor hibernating for another year.
The new year rang in
and already the first weeks have come and gone.

I'm back to my creative routine
and  a change up throughout my home along
with lots of reorganizing and clean out in my studio.

Trying to re-spark my creative muse can be a challenge this time of year.
The ideas take time to arrive and flow.

In between, it's winter at home!

White views brighten the dark corners.

Vintage treasures inspire many ideas.

Lacey white bring sweet dreams.

and I'll try and catch them as they shadow into my day.

The masters of music

bring a new rhythm

and the little bird sings a new song.

Thankful for the warmth and glow of home!

Yes,  it's snow and ice and everything nice.

It's the "in between"

Winter at Home

Have a warm weekend.

What a lovely post. I too have put everything Christmas away and have returned to the normal routine of things. I am looking forward to spring now even though it hasn't been that cold here in Italy yet. They say we're going to get colder weather soon but it hasn't shown yet (hopefully it won't!) Hope you have a great weekend and that your creative muse will show up real soon :-)

A lovely post this morning.
Yes, January is definitely an in between month for me. So is February really. With the wind-chill, the temperatures are below -30*C. What can you really do with such severe temperatures, but wait it out?
I have been working on my scrapbooks from 2015 in the cosiness of my house, and I keep the tea flowing.
And I love to go visiting my blog friends in the morning! Have a great weekend!

Have a great weekend, enjoy the time 'hibernating' in your lovely time. It's cold and wet here, so I'm sitting by the radiator, trying to keep warm! Hugs, Valerie

I have to admit that I love the months of January and February, Celeste! It's so nice that all the hustle and bustle is over, and I can enjoy just being cozy at home...baking, making soups, crocheting, sewing, reading, and just relaxing.
Happy weekend to you and your sweetie, in your cozy home! Love and hugs, Kitty

Yes this time of year does feel in-between things for sure. I'm anxiously awaiting spring but unfortunately that won't start until April here. I've got the Christmas stuff put away and feel like I've reclaimed my home! Now all I have to do is keep busy during these winter months. Enjoy your weekend!

Lovely vintage treasures. Christmas is over and now we are preparing to celebrate the Chinese New Year in early February.

Lovely post Celestina! I haven't been creating much lately. I've been busy purging and cleaning my craft space and giving the inside of the house a complete do-over. It's time for a new look and that means simplify. I just need to re-think what I really want to create and let those long forgotten projects just go. There's just not enough time! Have a wonderful weekend friend!

Celeste,
A beautiful post my friend, words laced In between photos of dreamy creamy Winter Whites. I agree January arrives and our muse is moving as leisurely as we are after the holidays. Your choice of words "in between" was very well chosen. The month of February in Philadelphia is the coldest, yet some of our highest snowfall amounts have occurred in March. So for me mid February becomes my countdown to Spring.
Have a warm and delightful weekend.
xoxo,
Vera

What a beautiful post. You put into words what I have been thinking. Just trying to get the house to not look so stark after the holidays.

I'm going from room to room making sure that ALL the Christmas decorations are packed away for another year.

Have a wonderful weekend with sunny skies and warm weather. We are having colder weather than we are used to.

Hugs to you sweet girl,
Mary

Love seeing all your pretty things!! Love the white iron pitchers...but you know that I have a love for them. We gotten snow twice since Christmas and now they are calling for rain later today...so the little bit of snow that is left will be gone by tonight.

Cindy

So many pretties in your post today! Love the home sweet home pillow! I have little creative spark at the moment. I agree January can be like that, but I am enjoying the mental break. Our weather has made winter more ineresting with our frquent little snow showers. Albuquerque can be bleak and brown when the leaves are gone and it gets cold for so long. We have had an amazing number of grey days mixed in, but they can be so cozy! Happy weekend!

i like the cute bird. :) hard to believe in a month we'll be looking to spring.

Very cleverly written with just the right images attached, Celeste. I like January for one reason - to have some down time without guilt. We've been, what I consider, very lucky so far with the same mild weather you speak of. I just hope my garden doesn't keep growing to the point my down time is crashed and I need to get out there to tend to growth!

Love all of your wintery whites, Celestina! It sure is hard to believe January is half over with, isn't it? We've had milder than normal temps this winter here too, though not as warm as you in TX! Keep warm and cozy this weekend!

And am I ever glad I have a three day weekend. Today and Sunday are supposed to be the coldest days we'll have and it's perfect to stay IN!!!!!!!! I can't wait. I'm here at 5:00am and I'm already loving the solitude of the morning to just be free from stress and be open to creativity. Have a FABULOUS day at home sweet friend.

Good morning,

I always look forward to my visits at your lovely blog. You have a special way of enjoying the little details.

Home is indeed such a pleasant place to spend winter days. I especially delight in my wood stove. I sometimes sleep on my couch several hours of the night, just so that I can soak in the cozy light of my fire while it is the season for fires.

Have a wonderful Saturday,
♥Hope

Hello Celeste,
We too are having a very mild winter. Got a little snow here today, very large, wet flakes. Not much accumulation here though. Can still see the ground.

Your "in between" decorating is so lovely! You are quite a talented decorator, right down to the smallest of details! Love all of your white pieces and decor! The busts reminded me of my late piano teacher who had the same three busts on her piano.

I am also a bit of a homebody during this "in between" time of year. Cant wait for spring!

xoxo

Good Evening Celistina Marie, I smiled when you said all the glitter had been cleaned away from your home, as I cleaned as well, but I am still finding the odd little piece of sparkling glitter on the carpet. I hoover, thinking it has all gone, then the sun shines and a little piece twinkles in the sunlight.
I think it will take a little longer before I am sure all the 'twinkles' have gone. Can I say, I adore the little white beaded cushion you showed us.The cross stitch is gorgeous as is the beading... both which are close to my heart.
The weather here in England is very cold and we have a lot of snow, but I really don't mind as the cold weather allows me to take the time to do a little more sewing.
Best Wishes to you.
Daphne

My sentiments exactly---after 45 some years in the arts in one form or another---January has always been my 'down' time...time to recoup and regather what wits the previous year had left me with. So I veg---until I can gather my thoughts and impulses and see what direction I'm going to go---part of the reason I started blogging and viewing blogs to get inspired---grins, Sandi

Your decorating for the winter is so pretty, I just love that stitched pillow, I know all the work that goes into that, all your pieces are great touches, like the sweet little angel too! My in between is all snowmen, my collection grew too big to have out with Christmas decorations so they have their own time to be displayed :)
Have a fantastic week!
