Around the Garden

Looks like an early spring
for us
in the Lone Star State!
We've had strong storms this week.
Spelling out~
Welcome to Texas in the springtime!

Before the storms,
I took a walk in my garden.
So many of the plants and blooms lasted all winter
for the first time ever!

Here is what greeted me in the garden~

Camellia all in red and blooming gorgeous!

They've been blooming since February.

Pretty light blue pansies.

The color is stunning!

Violas and rosemary all in bloom.

Gardenia's in white and dark green leaves.

Day-lilies popped up through the ground and thriving.

Berries on the trees in brilliant red.
The birds are very happy munching away in the trees.

The ferns made it through the winter over the pool shed!

Carolina Jasmine sunny and bright in yellow.

and
A few first pink roses.

Yes
Spring is here
and
soon we will be here~~

Are you seeing signs of springtime?
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

xo

Be sure and stop by the blog hop from Texas tomorrow.

Nothing like you have... I've seen a few jonquils and two pink flowering trees, not sure what they are. That's it.

Good morning Celeste. Aren't we having the most amazing early spring? I'll take the rain too.

Question - is your gardenia in the ground or in a pot?

Lisa said...

Your garden is amazing Celeste! Your gardenia are so luscious and full! The smell is intoxicating, isn't it? Enjoy your beautiful garden!

Happy Thursday.

Celeste, your flowers are simply gorgeous! Isn't it amazing that most continued to bloom this year? An extremely mild winter for us. I certainly hope the summer might be the same. Wishful thinking, huh? :)

My favorite aunt had such beautiful gardens and always had flowers in her home. I believe that's where I began the desire to have them too! Her gardenias were stunning and oh my, the fragrance. Anytime I smell a gardenia my thoughts go to her.

I do hope you're feeling better! It's been a rough week for migraines. I woke up at 4:30 this morning, just miserable. Right now it's easing up but I'm having trouble seeing on the computer.

Have a blessed day!

It's been so great hasn't it? Well, up until this deluge of rain.
Now I am so worried over my wee little garden that popped up out of the ground so well.
Looking forward to sharing in the blog hop with you tomorrow and seeing what wonderful Texas inspiration you will be sharing.

Wow- you do have a lot blooming. Everything is beautiful. My plants are all cut back and blah looking right now. I can't wait for the perennials to come back. I need to get planting some annuals too.

How wonderful to have so many beautiful blooms already this time of year. I am getting excited that the trees are starting to bud and their is some leaves popping up on our tiger lilies and Iris plants. My hubby is itching to take pictures of anything growing that he was out taking pictures of the flowering weeds before I picked them.

Wow! You have a lot of beautiful flowers blooming! My parsley and chives from last year are still going strong. That is it here, since the HOA here takes care of the plants and they have not planted flowers, just shrubs.

I can't believe your garden is so pretty already. I love the color of those pansies. I'm sure all this rain has helped it out as well. I can't wait to get started on planting this year! Happy Thirsday!

Beautiful walk thru your gardens Celeste! Thanks for sharing~ Love the inspiration you've given us.
We are not quite at spring yet here in CO! But for now it IS
unseasonably warm; so I will soak it in~ Wish we had some of your rain friend!
You know, our usual 'first flowers' are pansies and viola's (Johnny Jump-ups!: ) And I am always amazed. They are such sweet, small, delicate looking flowers to me - yet so hearty! to endure CO spring chills. They are brave, and stronger than they look : ) Have a blessed week-end~ Karen O

What a gorgeous garden you already have ,dear, so many things, which would never grow as beautifully here, as they do in your Texas. The Camelias are so stunning, and love the light blue pansies, which I if lucky, will find here for sale, later in the month :-)
I hope your storms are over Celeste, and wish you a most wonderful spring weekend !

I loved my walk through your garden - everything is so beautiful. We have had a spring since January. February was the hottest month since they have been keeping records.

My iris are blooming and my roses are full of buds. The rain we have been having is wonderful for our gardens.

Your photo's are stunning. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your garden.

OMG...gardenias were my mom's favorite. She used them in her December 1945 Amarillo wedding...how about that for a Texas connection. Someday I would like to go and visit the church they were married in...right after the war. Anyway...do you know how hard it is to get gardenias in December...one year I paid $40.00 for two...with no guarantee. Finally we went to fake...Thanks for the memory...Sandi

Oh lucky you! Love seeing the pretty flowers. We are experiencing spring like weather so I can't really complain. I wish I could grow Gardenias and Camellias. It drops down too cold for them here. I brought in a pot of daffodils that I saved from last year and they took off real fast so i should see blooms before long. They were buried under 2 ft. of snow but it's all gone now!! Yay!! Is this Bluebonnet Blog Hop closed to only a few?

I saw your red flower and had to come over and take a peek. Red flowers are my favorite, and your camellias are so pretty. I can't believe they are already blooming. My roses haven't come up yet, still waiting. Oh, I can smell your gardenias from here. They have the sweetest scent, and we used to have a big bush next to our pool at the old house. Aaaaahhhhh, some pretty roses already for you to enjoy.

love, ~Sheri

Glorious blossoms and berries and to think they survived Winter and are welcoming Spring. Your gardens are truly gorgeous dear. My daffodils were blooming so beautifully and then the snow came and destroyed them all. So...Winter will continue here and I am happy you are having Spring.

Oh, just beautiful! Flowers all winter -- I can't imagine! The color of those blue pansies is stunning. And I just love the gardenias; they seem so exotic to this northerner! We had 70 degree weather on Tuesday. It was beautiful! Cold and rainy today, but it won't be much longer til the warmer weather is here.
Looking forward to enjoying that Texas weather for sure!! xo Deborah

Oh my, you have a wonderful head start on things down there! Love all the colors and all the blooms. We are just getting started with a few crocus here and there. Not mine, yet, though. The grass is greening up and the buds are on the trees. I am so ready for real leaves! Its warming up here. We have robins! They are our first sign of real spring here. Love their songs... have an awesome weekend.

How lucky you are to have these beautiful blooms right now, Celeste! I think we might have an early spring here in the Midwest. I really love pansies (yours are gorgeous!), I can plant them after the freeze, in April perhaps, and then again in the fall around October. Just a planter on the front porch makes me smile.

Wonderful post. Thank you for the pretty photos!

Commenting from Canada where we can get to -40, I have to say it's a little surreal looking at all of your blooms. We sometimes see crocuses poking out of the snow but the flowers you have are houseplants to me....lol. Happy spring to you my friend!

What a gorgeous garden. I have my camellia in a pot and it did produced buds but they never bloomed. I suspect it didn't receive enough water this year as we discovered a broken sprinkler too late.
You post was truly a joy to read and I hope that you will continue adding your ray of sunshine every week on Thoughts of Home on Thursdays.
