Bluebonnets say, Springtime in Texas!

Yes it's springtime in Texas
when the Bluebonnets are in bloom!

Fields of blue grace the countryside
with gorgeous shades of this blue wildflower.
People come from all around to see these beauties,
standing in the fields and taking photos with  family and friends.

This week I'll be doing the same as we take a spring break to head south to the Hill Country.
We do have Bluebonnets growing wild here too but the further south you go, the better the site.

Each year I love to paint this beautiful bloom and I hope to get a few photos this week
to help in my creativity and new designs.

I'll do a little junkin, site seeing, walking the countryside
and
on the way back home,
we will stop in at Magnolia Market and check out the new Magnolia bakery.
Would you like me to bring you back a cupcake?
Well, I wish I could, but I will let you know how good they are and take a photo or two.

So off we go, to enjoy springtime in Texas and these pretty Bluebonnets!
Below are  a few paintings done from years past and present!

Have a great week and see you soon.
 Happy Spring!!

Have a great trip and enjoy The Silos!

Ah, reminds me of the days of working for Michaels...back when LIVE people did the ordering. I found a listing for bluebonnets on the floral master list that was not included in our set-up for the northern states. Well, rogue that I was I ordered a bunch anyway---and they continued to be so popular as they were the only really blue flower other than delphiniums, hydrangeas and basically iris to occur in the real world. Finally, the home office called and asked, "What are you doing with all the blue bonnets?" I replied and said we had many southern transplants here requesting them, and they just sold so well in smaller garden type arrangements, not to mention school colors. From then on, bluebonnets were included in our district's set-up as at least optional. Grins, I loved working with them as our area was very into --botanically correct arrangements. You surely do the sweet flower justice, Sandi

I thought I commented on this. See, this is what happens to me. I read something, then a child pulls me away, and I forget about it.

Anyways, I really love your artwork here. I have always wanted to see the Bluebonnets in real life. I guess you could say it's one of the few items left on my "bucket list". But your pretty flowers are surely the next best thing! Great job, my friend. :)
