Home For The Holidays

There's no place like home for the holidays.

Welcome back to my little home tour. When I left you last it was at the front door. Please come in and make yourself at home.
The Dining room is to the right of the door just off the entry. Our Christmas tree stands in the window facing the front of the house.
Santa greets us in the entry.
Going into the dining room as we pass to the kitchen and living room.
Last year I found these 2 vintage arched windows for each side of my vintage hutch. Backed them with lace, and they are perfect to display Christmas stockings. The wall looks yellow in the pic, but it is a light sand.
Lastly our Christmas tree. This year I used silver, gold, white and light pink cottage roses and ornaments to decorate this tree. It is filled with snowflakes and crystal collectibles. The star at the top is a cherished gift from Randi, my dear friend from Norway.
Thank you for taking a moment to visit. Next time, I'll share a few more decorations throughout my cottage.
I am so enjoying visiting many of you and seeing all the pretties for the holiday.
Have a Merry Day~

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas~

Welcome Monday and the start of a new week. I love Mondays, do you?

Since my last post and the start of my cottage decorating, I can say, I'm finished!! Yes, I pulled out all the tubs of decor, and again this year, took a less is more approach.

Touches of Christmas tradition throughout my home and opting for silver, gold and white with a touch of pale pink in place of red and green. Even my Best Guy said he loved the peace and calm of the lighter look this year.

Anyway, I have lots to share over the next several weeks, but today, I will start with a little project I designed just before Thanksgiving. I had in mind an idea for Christmas stockings in a vintage style using lace and feed sack fabric. I had no pattern, so I drew out a long thin stocking from paper and then cut the design out using vintage feed sacks.

To the stocking I added a cuff of vintage lace and then a patchwork of more lace near the heel. Vintage buttons added for accent and thin ivory ribbon to finish the top and hanger.

I am happy with the way they turned out for the design I had in mind. These are now hanging on my little fireplace in our library/family room.  It's cozy and charming, simple and calm.
I love the distressed details on this fireplace.
Love the cozy glow of the candles.
I am in love with this little fellow by ESC Trading Company. "Let It Snow"
Joy ornament with tiny sheet music in the frame.
Woodland frosted trees stand with evergreens under the joy wreath.
Sleeping on the hearth is a sweet little gray house mouse. A darling little guy my dear mother made for me years and years ago. He is staying warm and cozy by the fire.
I also have a tall and thin woodland tree in this room filled with Thomas Kinkaid Cottages, vintage snowflakes and silver glittered ornaments. Below the tree are lit ice packages, I shared how to create these last year here.
This room also holds my tiny little snow village in a vintage cabinet which I will share in my next post. For now it's back to the artshop and lots of creating to be completed.
Thank you for visiting me today and thank you for your kind comments. I love to read each and every one. Also, welcome to my new followers. I am so happy to meet you and look forward to visiting you soon.

Merry Christmas. Hugs, Celestina Marie
