Cherry Dreams

Happy June Blog Friends. Hard to believe we are nearly well into Summer and the heat is on here in Texas.
This week, for my first Tea Time Tuesday, I shared Cherry Dream Squares with all of you for tea. Some of you asked for the recipe, so here it is.
I hope you enjoy this very quick and very yummy dessert with your family and friends.

CHERRY DREAM SQUARES

1 package white cake mix (yellow would work too)
1 1/4 cups oats
1/2 cup soft margarine and 6 tablespoons margarine
1 egg
21oz. can cherry pie filling
1/2 cup chopped nuts (I use pecans or almonds)
1/2 cup brown sugar

Heat oven to 350 degrees
Grease or Pam spray 13 X 9 inch pan
In average size bowl, combine cake mix, 6 tablespoons margarine, 1 cup oats and mix until crumbly.

Reserve 1 cup of the crumbs for the topping later.

To remaining crumb mixture add 1 egg, mix well and press in the bottom of the pan.
Pour the cherry pie filling evenly over the crust.

Let sit while you add 1/4 cup oats,1/2 cup margarine, nuts and brown sugar to the reserved crumbs.
Beat all to mix and sprinkle over the cherry layer. This layer will be on the wet side and not dry. It will all blend together while baking, but layer as evenly as possible.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until brown.
Cool and cut into squares the size of your choice. Can also be served warm later after set by warming in the microwave and served with whipped topping or scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Refrigerate covered after serving to keep nice and set.
So delish~~ ENJOY!

Let me know if you bake this easy and quick dessert.
Have a great day.
Smiles, Celestina Marie

CHRISTMAS COOKIE RECIPE EXCHANGE!

Welcome to the party hosted by JAN OF ROSE HAVEN. Today we are sharing great recipes we love and want to share. Be sure to visit over at Rose Haven for a list of participants with recipes to pass along. It will be fun!

The recipe I'd liked to share is for Santa's Wiskers. This is a recipe I used to make when my son was little and I was room mother for his school. These cookies are so yummy and a treat for kids young and old. Stores well too, if they last that long!!

Hope you enjoy the party today and Thank you Jan for hosting this fun event.
Till next time, Merry Christmas, see you soon with more Christmas decorating.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
