You Know You're In Texas

When you see a gate entrance with
The flag of Texas
and
The shape of the state.

I drove upon this great entrance gate in the country
a few weeks ago.

I love the rustic charm of the rusty flag and state shape.
These details in the center,
really give the gate some interest and character.

Just down the road a bit more
is a beautiful wood split rail that seemed to run for miles.

So serene, peaceful and calm.
Look how green the grass is getting.
The trees were budding here but hard to see in the photo.
Hope to take photos of Bluebonnets soon.

See you next time!

Welcome to Our Home

Another week has come and gone
and
welcome back to view a bit of Texas
with
the gate I found for today.

In my travels I discovered this wide open ranch
with a gorgeous split rail fence and stone pillars at the entrance.

Looking a bit closer, off to the side,
I see this metal sign topping the gate.

"Welcome to our home"

Horses and wagon wheels make it perfect.

Love a gate with a sign
and
been finding many of those recently.

More to share in the future.

Have a wonderful March.

Good Fences

Happy Thursday Friends
and
Welcome to

Today I'm sharing a bit of my own gate and fence,
 fall style.

For the gate,
I designed a roof top over the gate
and our fence guy did a wonderful job of making that come to be.

The wreath is a simply grapevine,
wrapped with a garland of leaves
and an added wood sign.

The hanging lantern is an outdoor faux timer candle
and
it comes on each evening for 5 hours, goes off
and then does the same each day.

I like to change out the wreath with the seasons to welcome guests.

Last year we had to replace our old fence
and
went with a tall cedar board on board style.

The fence and gate that face the road are painted white
to coordinate with our house trim and shutters,
then is changes
inside the yard, to a pretty oak stain.

Fall has begun to share some cooler days here and it's so welcomed.

I've cleaned up the garden to make way for
pansies and mums.

I plan to paint this birdhouse red!

Still sunny and bright as Mr. Sun smiles on .
Love the shadow from the tree on the fence.

Here's another backyard gate  and part of the arch going to
la rock beach.

I added another grapevine wreath with a wood pumpkin sign.

Sometime good fences are right in our own backyard.

And in my backyard,
I'll be planting these later today.

Pretty pansies and mums for fall and winter.
This wood and iron tote with handle below is a new love I found at my local garden shop.

Wishing you a wonderful day.

Good Fences

Happy October!!

Where did September go??
Is it just me, or are the months flying by?
Well it's October
and
one of my favorite months throughout the year.

Today is Thursday
and
Good Fences once again!

Today I share a star gate and a different fence designed with stacked rocks.

The star caught my eye driving by~

but the stacked rock for the fencing was really interesting
and
something I had not seen with fencing in front of the rocks.

Seems to provide privacy.
Wonder how it's being held in place?
Just looks freely stacked to me~

The Star gate is a great statement for living in the Lone Star State!

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful month of October.

See you soon.

Good Fences

Hi Friends
and
Welcome to another
and
Gates too.

Right near my Texas Cottage is this wonderful Tree Gate.
Isn't it gorgeous?
It's hard to see in this pic,
but the trees on this property
are full of buds
and now bursting with leaves since
I scheduled this post.

It has a winding drive with a split rail on one side and stone wall on the other.
Could you imagine pulling up and this tree opens for you to enter?

It even looks like the trees on the property
and stays green year round.

Thank you for stopping by.
See you next time.

you might see a gate entrance like this~

Brick columns and stone lions like this~

Long gravel and dirt driveway entries like this~

And spring has sprung with green grass like this.

With warmer and longer days

we are

So Happy to Welcome the new season.
