Winter White Dreams

There is nothing better then enjoying and being home for Christmas. I love this book for it's inspiration and gorgeous photos. Each year I read it again and always see something new and beautiful.
Hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. Can you believe Christmas is just a few short weeks away? Time this year has flown by. I bet you are decorating your homes. Over the next few weeks, I will share my home and decor for Christmas.
For nearly a year now, I have been working on my living room redo adding cottage creams, white and neutral color for a calm relaxing sitting room. The fireplace and mantel are the main feature and the rock is white so getting back to a lighter look was my focus.

Earlier, my dear hubby and I painted the walls a darker neutral with chocolate curl under the chair rail, but after living with it for some time, it just was not working, so repainting was in order.

This time I used Heirloom Lace and the softness and color is just plain yummy!! It was fun to decorate this room for Christmas.

I have a tiny white tree here in this room, but my main tree is in the dining room window which is in the front of the house. I will share those pics on another post. Till then, here is a bit of the redesign over the past year and the decorations for Christmas.
I found this dear Santa at a thrift shop. He was in real need of some TLC so home he came and after a redesign and freshen up, he stands with new life on the hearth.
Another gorgeous Santa on my very vintage side hutch was created by my dear friend Marie from Creations from Marie Antoinette and Edie Marie's Attic. This pretty white Santa is dressed in white and pulling a gorgeous swan holding lots of holiday treasures. Behind are white glittery trees. He is so handsome and right at home. Marie is a very talented doll designer. Stop by and say hello.
My beloved piano got a makeover too and painted white. This treasure has been in my life since I was a little girl. Recently, I found a book of Christmas music from 1945 and just loved the arrangements. This great find looks wonderful and ready to play all through the season. I am sure it will be a source for some great sheet music creations too.
Joining today Blissful Whites Wednesday.
Thank you for stopping by. Your visits and comments are always welcome.

Wishing you winter dreams and love for the season.

Merry Christmas with Blessings,
Celestina Marie

Hi Celeste!

Your new sitting room is wonderful! It looks so peaceful and dreamy. The piano looks wonderful in there with the vintage music ready to play. I love how it faces so the player can see everyone in the room. Marie's Santa & Swan Sleigh creation looks like it was made just for your room! It doesn't get much better than that. Her talent amazes me everyday.
I can imagine sitting there sipping some tea or a glass of wine listening to you play Christmas songs on your family piano... what a lovely dream.

Much love and big hugs to you & Larry! Sherry

Beautiful, Celeste! It looks like a winter wonderland. I love the wall color you chose. I am going to have to decide on a color in the coming months for our walls. Our condo is open floor plan so it will be in several areas. There is a fairly light neutral on the walls now that I like, but I thought I might go just a tad darker with it.

What a beautiful and inviting room you have designed Celeste! I love your beautiful Santa's too! Thanks for the visit, sorry I missed some posts. My daughter came home from Kentucky for a much appreciated Thanksgiving visit and and I am slowly playing catch up with everything. We still do not have the house completely put back together but I am getting closer to finding my desk in the craft room, lol. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving, we did, especially with our daughter home and our son and his girlfriend there.

I have a dream........ I wish to come over for a cup of tea with you and then please please will you play me a song on that gorgeous piano and shall we then sing together and give each other a big hug? LOL! It looks soooooo serene and beautiful as always my dear brush fairy ;-D I truly imagine you flying with airy wings through that room touching each corner with your magic wand. You said it took you a year but that sounds impossible to me as last week your house was still filled with pumpkins and pretties around Thanksgiving and now you're already done for Christmas?! You are amazing LOL. Anyway, anyhow...... it is just perfect, as always and I love it all!
Blessings and big hug,
Ingeborg

Oh, Celeste, everything you've done here is simply gorgeous. Everything looks like the landscape after a snowfall. I love all the texture in your decorating.

I have never gotten into "white". I can't wait to be able to get to the remaining rooms that need painting, so that I can begin sharing my whole-house make-over that seems to have taken forever. LOL!
