Finding The Inspiration

Each new year finds me encouraged for new ideas and creations.

While I love to get out in the world viewing nature around me, I realize, I really don't have to go far for the inspiration to create.

Most of the time, it is right here at home in my Texas cottage.
Here and there among the treasures I love, the books I read and the views right outside my window.
So I curl up in a comfy chair to read beautiful words.
Just nesting this time of year, gathering and reflecting on creations to follow.
Music has always been inspiring to me. Listening to the rhythm of beautiful note combinations seems to show me the way and direction.
So I take up my sketch book and draw some thoughts.
As one stroke leads to another, I put color to my world on a heartful keepsake box.
Putting love into the ideas.
Finding Inspiration doesn't really have to take me too far from my creating and dreams.
Where do you find inspiration?
 Far or close by?
Within your thoughts, music and heart?
Wishing you joy this day!

So pretty Celeste... I am happy to see your beautiful pink roses today... we are in the midst of a blizzard with almost three feet of snow dumped on us, so your roses were a welcome sight!... also love your cozy chair and throw... I find my inspiration in Nature... infact, I have stated sketching some again, and I am going to try to sketch the quail that are eating in the little spot I uncovered for them in the snow this morning... much love, xoxo Julie Marie

Dear Celestina
Your chair looks like just the place to dream and find your artistic muse while listening to inspiring music. The sweet box you created and painted flowed from the beauty you hold within.
Did you make the lovely lacey shawl/knee warmer too???
Thank you dear Celestina for being a part of my blogging journey last year.
Wishing a JOY filled 2013.
Hugs
Shane ♥

Inspiration is usually all around us. You've taken the time to be still and absorb your surroundings and interpret it though your art...which is beautiful, by the way. Have a wonderful weekend!

Music does soothe the soul. Your heart with the piano keys and soft pink roses is gorgeous. Reading beautiful words in a cozy chair is perfect for these cold winter days. Blessings dear...

Your keepsake box is just gorgeous, Celestina! I could look at your pretty painted roses all day long:) Great post about inspiration. What inspires me? Well, like you I'm inspired by things in my own home and my back yard as well. I also have gotten so many incredible ideas from all of the wonderful blogs out there(your included!) and from my travels. Have a great day!

Hi Celestina! I find my inspiration mostly for decorating my home, in things I like. If I like something then I try to build on it and make it fit no matter what...lol! I have my blog back...my mom misses it and she was disappointed to see I had closed it...so I caved in and opened it again. I don't see her very often so this was her way of keeping up with me. Anyway, I hope your having a wonderful new year, I can't wait to see all your new creations this year :-) hugs Jennifer

The box with the piano keys is so pretty, Celestina. I love the piano and took lessons when I was younger, but never stayed with it. Music is definately something I need in my world. As for my inspiration...I love going to arts and crafts shops and find many ideas there, and I also get inspired by a few of my bloggy friends, such as you. Have a beautiful weekend, Celestina.

Hello Dear Celestina, Thank you for your visit and wonderful comments. Love this box, I am all about love and hearts so of course your box spoke to me. I like to sit in my living room, listening to my favorite cd's, candles lit and looking at some of my old craft books, have many. I feel that what is old is new again and they give me new ideas. Just the other day was looking at my books and decided to make cloth dolls again. So now trying to put my old patterns all in order. Don't really need new fabric, but for me the fabric stores are candy stores.
Thank you again my friend...Lu

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I have already washed over what I was doing with a lovely Mulberry instead of the Sea Glass I had started out with. I like it better already.
I know what you mean. I'm so new at everything it's hard for me to come up with my own patterns and I wish I could copy others but I do not dare. I was using a josonja pattern of a lake scene surrounded by roses but it was starting to look like the team colors for the Denver Broncos, blue and orange! I think pale roses on a mulberry background will be what I end up with. I'll let you know when it's posted. Hugs!

Hi dear Celeste,
What a lovely post; an inspiration at its own! Your piano painting is so beautiful, so unique! Gorgeous! I find just anything can inspire me.... a thought, a saying, pain, suffering, music, nature, new materials, textures, fashion, a dream, just anything. I don't go somewhere special to find inspiration. It just comes to me from God on the moments needed. So....... conclusion I guess in my case is that I don't have to find it. It already IS there when the moment is right :) Happy creating and i'm sure you will ;-D Bye bye brush fairy ;-D

I have a new found love of piano keys! How lovely, Celeste....Everything that you create is done ever so carefully planned and executed! You artists have a natural mind for creativity. As for me, well, I get inspired in silence and contemplation. Then all of a sudden something will pop up in my mind and then it goes from there... Always love to visit your blog!

Hi again Celeste, I love all your ideas for past works, just wonderful. It has taken me years to start thinking this way, recreating with past works...but, why not.

You are kind to ask about my move. We closed on our house in Orlando the week after thanksgiving and will be leaving NY the end of May. Of course, crazy amounts of stuff to do till then, including getting rid of things we do not wish to move with us, LOL. We are excited, just lots to do. In the meantime, we have a house sitter coming in each week to keep an eye on things for us in our absence and a landscaper taking care of our yard til we get there.

Beautiful piece you've created!! Like you inspiration can be found right at home, or as I move through life. Blogs like yours give me inspiration for ideas I hadn't considered, but can put my own personal stamp on.
It's just the need to be creative that was born into me that keeps me searching for outlets to express myself.
This gift is clearly in you and the outlets you've chosen to express it are really impressive.
God bless.
