Pumpkin Pretty with Burlap

Last weekend we went out to one of my favorite design markets.
It used to be called Garden Ridge, but recently changed their name to
At Home!

This place has acres of decorative stuff!!
Rows and aisles, walls filled and room displays and accessories of all kinds.
If you can imagine an idea, it will probably be there.

Forgot my camera and could not get good pics with my phone,
but imagine a football field with home decor departments from one
goal post to the other.

Anyway, I purchased some great finds and will share those in another post,
but today I want to share a burlap pumpkin.
Very plain burlap
 and
 the best part,
no burlap odor.
I only found one.
The lack of the aroma is probably the reason they were sold out.
Let's face it,
we love burlap but not always the scent on some fabrics.

So home this little treasure came.
And,
you guessed it, a redesign.

I gathered my supplies.
Fabric fall leaves, ribbon, paper flowers, crocheted flower,
glitter, hot glue and a graphic for a tag.

I placed the leaves right over the burlap leaves and lined with a row of glitter glue.

Added ribbon and paper flowers, crocheted in white and a few pearls.

Added a tag created from a graphic
courtesy of

Finished and ready to enjoy with other fall neutrals.

Fall Flowers~

Decorating books for cozy afternoons~

Layers of tone on tone, has stolen my heart!
and
I love brown transferware anytime of the year,
but especially in the fall.

This pumpkin was under 5 dollars
to purchase and recreate.

Can you imagine this market at Christmas?
Looking forward to viewing the many ideas when I return later in the season.

Thanks for stopping by.
Wishing you
Southern DayDreams.

Have a Blessed Weekend!

Good Morning and Happy Weekend. I have visited Garden Ridge before. I remember how big the store is. I love the burlap pumpkin and the changes you made.
I assisted an elderly neighbor put up a fall yard flag yesterday. Each home on our street is beginning to decorate for fall.
God bless your day!

I love Garden Ridge, but haven't been in there in such a long time though. The closest store is about an hour away. Love your burlap pumpkin and know just what you mean about the smell. I made a pillow for friend using burlap. I usually spray it with Downy Wrinkle Releaser before ironing and it helps with the scent. Hope you have great weekend, Celeste. Looking forward to seeing what other goodies you found.

Love your beautiful touches to the pumpkin. So sweet. We have a Garden Ridge near us and I have never been. I guess I better remedy that and go in there. Have a great week end.

Good morning sweet friend! Burlap is the ordinary person's silk, isn't it! Such luxury and texture in this incredible textile. You are on a pumpkin roll and I'm LOVING IT! Hugs to you as you enjoy your Saturday! Anita

WOW!!! How adorable all bedazzled with glitter! You're rocking your home for Fall with beautiful customized pumpkins, very impressive. In Philly we do not have a Garden Ridge, I wish! Happy weekend.

Yes, the odor is an issue. I don't get the table runners and pillows made of burlap unless they are treated with something to soften them.

Love your pumpkin with your personal touch.

Your pumpkin looks so pretty, Celeste! I don't know that we have a Garden Ridge (or its new name) here. I will have to look it up now. Sometimes I'm surprised and do find a store is here, just not close by and there may only be one location.

LOVE your burlap pumpkin Celeste!... it was cute just as is, but now it is fabulous with your magic touch on it!... I never buy burlap because of the smell either... besides not liking the smell, my allergies flare up... lucky you finding one with no odor!... it looks darling everywhere you place it in your home... and your brown transferware is stunning... I would love a complete set especially in the Fall... Happy First Day of Autumn to you!... I don't care what the calendars say nowadays, the First Day of Fall has always been the 21st!... xoxo... Love the pumpkin that you decorated. It looks amazing. Great job and the floral arrangement is stunning.
Sounds like a great place to shop and
I am sure that Christmas will be over the top. We have one here also and I am going on a tour there next week to see what the trend is for Christmas. They had their Christmas Show last Sunday with beautiful decorated Christmas trees. Will have to do a post on it.
Have a great week,
Mary

LOVE what you did with that burlap pumpkin, and the tag...well, you know I love the tag. :) I printed the same image this week for an ATC swap and changed my mind and used another, but she is adorable, isn't she.
You're so inspiring, my friend.
