Rainy Day Creating

What did we do before the Dollar Stores?
On a recent visit, I found some great little pumpkins
ready to finish with accents and trims.

I had an idea
to decorate a few to display in my vintage Blue Willow cups under cloches
in a corner hutch.

To begin,
I purchased 3 little light weight pumpkins
topped with a fall flower and a few berries.
Cost 3 dollars.
To these I added glitter on the pumpkins in a dot pattern, added old buttons, vintage  lace, paper roses
and glitter outlining the leaves.

Cost, 0 dollars as these were in my crafting stash.

Next I added a little Halloween tag to each
courtesy of
Cost 0 dollars.

Here they are in the cups, under the cloches,
displayed on the hutch,
Cost 0 dollars.

Love the simple uncluttered look.

And for one last Dollar Store Craft.
I purchased a 10 inch grapevine wreath.
Cost 1 dollar.
A garland vine of leaves.
Cost 1 dollar.

Wrapped the vine around the wreath.

Added a little sign repainted from my stash and a few leaves I had on hand.
Cost 0 dollars.
Total cost 2 dollars to complete.
You could add anything you have on hand if you don't paint.
A graphic glued to a piece of wood,
a bow, or maybe a few pumpkin picks.

Here's where I placed my rainy day craft.

These ideas from items purchased from the Dollar stores
are great craft projects for the kids too.
Fun to do on a rainy afternoon.
Great for us big kids too!!

Have you created any rainy day crafts lately?
Have fun.

Thank you for stopping by and your comments.
See you soon.

Happy Creating!

Celeste, you have the most creative of minds! You make me want to go get my autumn decorations out. That shall be tomorrow's goal. Once I have them out, I will see if I need anything else. If I do, I will definitely head to the Dollar Store! :) Thank you for sharing what you created from our Dollar Store finds and things from your craft stash! They are beautiful!

Your pumpkins are so pretty, Celeste. I love those dollar store pumpkins and have used them myself in crafts. I've also got a bunch of those leaf bunches that I just stuck in a pitcher this year. Last year I used them in my booth as decoration.

I keep telling you you're a genius because you ARE!! These little pumpkins are so sweet Celeste. I've got to take a trip to the dollar store and get my glitter on!

Your home looks like a big treasure box! Hope you're not in any flooding threats. Stay safe!

Love your creative alterations and upcycling idea, and the final effect is fantastic. The Euro store here is one of my fave sources of decorations, I often take vines apart and use the leaves etc on other projects, much cheaper than buying the always so expensive card toppers etc! Enjoy your fall season! Hugs, Valerie

Oh my goodness, Celeste, you found some great items at the Dollar Store! You turned them into treasures! I love your idea of placing the pumpkins in a tea cup and then under a cloche! The wreath is so bright and the sign is a perfect accent for it. You have been busy! I love these ideas!

I had to chuckle as I read this. I just came home from the pound store (and had bought some new crafts to work on). It's a rainy day here which is perfect for crafting.
Your pumpkins and wreath are gorgeous!

I LOVE your rainy day agenda, dear Celeste! This reminds me of the good old school days in "grammar" school (oh my, am I old or what!) when it would rain hard and we stayed in from recess and would craft in the classroom.

It is colorful here now, orange and yellow trees....but it is warm, so I can't feel the fall yet, but I want to! But when I do, I am taking your idea of adding tags to my little white pumpkins that I will place either under a cloche or in a wooden bowl. Oh the ideas! Thank you dear friend! Anita

Celestina, your creativity just amazes me! Why, that is something so sweet and simple.
I find I need to slow down long enough to put my thinking cap on and get creative. You have me thinking...
As always, this is a beautiful place to visit.
Sweet blessings to you.
