Winter at Home

Hi Friends!
Do you feel like January is the "in between" month?

The time between Christmas and the countdown to spring?

Perhaps you are already counting the days till spring.

For most, we are already tired of the cold~
even though it has barely shown it's fury.

As I look out the kitchen window,
 it looks sunny,
but the air is a bitter cold  here in north Texas.

I know many of you are having  below 0 temps
which makes our 16 degrees seem
like a heat wave.

I like to enjoy the cozy time "in between" at home.

The last of the glitter is vacuumed away
and Christmas decor hibernating for another year.
The new year rang in
and already the first week has come and gone.

I am back to my creative routine filling the shelves in my shop.

Trying to re-spark my creative muse can be a challenge.
The ideas take time to arrive and flow.

In between, it's winter at home!

White views brighten the dark corners.

Vintage treasures inspire many ideas.

Lacey white bring sweet dreams.

and I'll try and catch them as they shadow into my day.

The masters of music

bring a new rhythm

and the little bird sings a new song.

Shimmering snow~

is the title for my new winter throw.

Crocheting  white lace with sparkle is keeping my hands busy,
when the paint brushes finish for the day.

Yes,  it's snow and ice and everything nice.

It's the "in between"

Winter at Home

Have a special weekend.

What a beautiful throw, Celeste! I have some creating I'd like to do - I have the idea/plan I just need to sit down and craft a bit. : ) I also signed up for a swap. I like to try and do that after the new year starts hoping that will get the creativity flowing. I think my problem is there are so many things I'd like to do that my mind gets overwhelmed with where to begin!

Celestina, I can't wait for Spring to get here. It has been very "COLD" in NC. This time last year we had a cold snap just like this year. My pipes froze in the master bath for about 8 hrs but thawed Thank the Good Lord! Your creativity is inspirational and I love all things White. Have a great weekend.

I don't know what to call January except exasperating! LOL... It has arrived with a bang up here, but I knew it would and since the holiday's were so calm I just figured we were up for something soon! I live for spring and the rebirth of all the plant life nature has to share with us! As I age I have less and less tolerance for the cold winter m onths but I just have to keep busy inside like you are. That throw in the sparkly white yarn is so pretty!

I love all your winter whites...especially the throw you're making. That is so pretty. And it keeps everything light, airy and bright!

January has arrived with bitterly cold, windy and snowy days! I'm ready for spring! The pups runs out of the house to do their job and right back in...no playing or running around out there for them either! Expected high today 16° and tomorrow's high 10°. Ugh. I've been hunkered down in the house...playing more on my NEW blog and posting on it and the Devotions blog I started too! Stop on by...

Hugs,
Jan ♥

Oh Celeste, your "in~between" time looks so beautiful!... I am already in full Spring mode after the severe winter weather we had over Christmas, and I was sick with the flu besides... I have to admit, winter looks pretty, but I am a Spring~Summer girl!... just this morning I was looking at my little Texas Bluebonnets painting you did for me and thinking about your time at The Prairie... and Cornflower Cottage that you stayed in... I already have some cornflower seeds to plant for this year!... enjoy your in~between time, xoxo... Julie Marie

Hello sweet Celeste,

I too during the winter months (especially January) embrace snow and ice, whites and creams in our home. But this January I am clinging to white Puffs Plus while I am still battling Bronchitis from the flu.

Your shimmering snow crocheted throw is beautiful.
Stay warm, be well...
Sending love,
Vera

Celeste, your photos are like a candy shop for the eyes on this cold winter day! The throw is going to be beautiful and the yarn is so pretty with that little sparkle. All your white treasures are so special--I love the cherub, the little bird and the pitchers to name a few! So funny how our tastes change because I find myself drawn to everything in shades of white. So you can imagine the little feast my eyes just had with your post. It's a bit warmer today but we were at 20 below yesterday and we had some snow this morning. Looking forward to spring! Have a great weekend!

Your wintery whites are so pretty, Celestina! I love your lacy curtains, they are just gorgeous! And I do believe your temps are downright balmy compared to ours:) While I'm not crazy about the cold, I do love cozying up at home. No holiday preparations, no weeds to pull, just enjoying nesting. Keep warm!

Your lacy throw is just beautiful! I've never learned how to crochet, but it's on my list of things I'd like to learn. I'm surprised that it gets that cold in Texas! I guess we're all in a deep freeze right now. Enjoy your indoor creative time!

Your photo's are beautiful! I love the throw that you are making, it's so very pretty.
Everything looks so good around your home.
Christmas is packed away for another year. I have been busy de cluttering. My large hall closet I made into a Dish room and it looks terrific and I can see everything now. Found treasures that I didn't know I had LOL and gave lots away. So that's my project for 2015.
So good to see your blog, missed you and wishing you and yours the most wonderful 2015, dear friend.

It is hard for this Southern California girl to understand winter. We usually only get winter when we go skiing and then I am happy to sit in on a snowy evening to rest my sore legs.

I look forward to seeing what you are creating.

Most beautiful friend, I am about to get off the computer for I am terribly late in getting my morning started, but I saw your comment and had to come.

I am NOT deleting my blog, and I will CONTINUE to visit you and many others who I truly adore. I just have to make this decision because my private writing life is getting nowhere, and I have to transfer the TIME I spend in creating blog posts over to my poetry. BUT YOU ALL mean so much to me, and I am staying IN. I WILL BE BACK for your next post! LOVE TO YOU, Anita

Loving all of you winter whites. Couldn't help but laugh at your "last of the glitter is up". LOL! My middle daughter loves to do glitter projects with her two girls and she said last week to me that she never knew glitter could wind up in her frig! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Beautiful pictures Celeste! It is hard to get rolling again in the new year. I find if I hang out on pinterest or go to a vintage store sometimes I can jog my creative juices! I saw your comment at Nana Diana...I am really worried about her..I hope she blogs a note soon. Crazy how we can feel so close to people we have never met!

Beautiful wintry whites, Celeste. It's the theme of our daughter's wedding this year. I love this time of year, and I never rush winter. It's a gorgeous season for Florida, art shows, farmer's markets, clear blue skies.
Wishing you a wonderful winter.

What a beautiful throw! It must be a delight to work with the sparkly yarn.
I love winter more every year, which seems strange because I always wanted to live somewhere warm. But it's become the coziest, homiest time of year for me, and I love it. Unlike so many, I'm in no hurry for spring.
Love the beautiful winter whites throughout your home.
