Good Fences

Happy October!!

Where did September go??
Is it just me, or are the months flying by?
Well it's October
and
one of my favorite months throughout the year.

Today is Thursday
and
Good Fences once again!

Today I share a star gate and a different fence designed with stacked rocks.

The star caught my eye driving by~

but the stacked rock for the fencing was really interesting
and
something I had not seen with fencing in front of the rocks.

Seems to provide privacy.
Wonder how it's being held in place?
Just looks freely stacked to me~

The Star gate is a great statement for living in the Lone Star State!

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful month of October.

See you soon.

Morning, Celeste! Oh, this is a nice gate and fence. Like you, I do wonder how those rocks will stay up. I could just see a little boy climbing on that rock fence and it come tumbling down. Love the star on the gate. We had a star like that when we lived in Texas and we brought it with us, string twinkle lights around it and it's hanging on our fence in the back yard. We'll always have a little Texas with us! ;)
Hope all is well with you.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

What an interesting fence, Celeste. I have never seen a stacked rock fence that high. That's a great way to take care of rocks on a property. Love the star and gate! Thanks for sharing good fences!

I am a big fan of stone walls...we have tons of them up here, some are hundreds of years old. I don't know how they stay up either, although none are really that high!

That is unusual how those rocks are stacked, Celestina. Makes me think of all of the stone fences in Ireland, you have to see it for yourself some day:) And the iron gate and star are so neat!

Wow that's a great entrance. That stacked stone fence wall is interesting. I guess they aren't worried about it tumbling but it does make you wonder. Are those a natural colored stone for your area?

love that gate! yes, rock walls are so rare here. our ground is so unstable they need that fence to lean them against. a surprising find. thanks, celeste!

Wow, that's a lot of work for what appears to be a temporary wall of fencing. A great look, though!

WOW I love the stone and of course the star is a stunner. Great pics!

How I love anything with stars and that gate is fantastic! The stone wall is what we in Ireland call a dry stone wall as no mortar is used and the stones are just built together like a jigsaw!
Have a happy fall this October!

GREAT fences today. Love that stacked rock one but it doesn't look real stable, does it? I bet it has been there for a hundred years though...lol

Thanks for popping by for a visit. We need to catch up soon. It has been such a crazy few months for us. Looking forward to a quieter season now. xo Diana

Been around along time, and first stone fence like this I ever saw. Certainly a contrast to the nice gate.

Lovely Star Gate and fencing with stacked rocks. I can imagine the rocks are from the land they cleared and why not create a fence with them. We have an engineered dry stack rock wall and I absolutely love it. The bottom row of "rocks" are each over one ton in weight. It was quite the experience to go to the quarry to select the boulders and then have a ten-wheeler truck deliver only about six at a time. When they dumped the loads each time the ground and house shook with the thunderous rocks. I love the natural look and feel of them. We are money poor but rock wealthy!!! Creative Fence Bliss...

The stacked rocks are so cool against the metal fencing, never have seen that before, it amazes me the work that goes into that.
