Good Fences

Happy Thursday Friends
and
Welcome to

Today I'm sharing a bit of my own gate and fence,
 fall style.

For the gate,
I designed a roof top over the gate
and our fence guy did a wonderful job of making that come to be.

The wreath is a simply grapevine,
wrapped with a garland of leaves
and an added wood sign.

The hanging lantern is an outdoor faux timer candle
and
it comes on each evening for 5 hours, goes off
and then does the same each day.

I like to change out the wreath with the seasons to welcome guests.

Last year we had to replace our old fence
and
went with a tall cedar board on board style.

The fence and gate that face the road are painted white
to coordinate with our house trim and shutters,
then is changes
inside the yard, to a pretty oak stain.

Fall has begun to share some cooler days here and it's so welcomed.

I've cleaned up the garden to make way for
pansies and mums.

I plan to paint this birdhouse red!

Still sunny and bright as Mr. Sun smiles on .
Love the shadow from the tree on the fence.

Here's another backyard gate  and part of the arch going to
la rock beach.

I added another grapevine wreath with a wood pumpkin sign.

Sometime good fences are right in our own backyard.

And in my backyard,
I'll be planting these later today.

Pretty pansies and mums for fall and winter.
This wood and iron tote with handle below is a new love I found at my local garden shop.

Wishing you a wonderful day.

Celestina, I very much like your fence with the dimensional, wood on wood! It's gorgeous, and a project happy to be checked off, I'm sure. Your pansy and mum colors are colors of my choice also. I'm hoping to get pansies in sometime in the next couple of weeks, and I'm happy to say last year's mums are blooming!

I loved seeing the fences in your own backyard, Celeste. You've decorated them so beautifully to welcome your guests. I especially love the wrought iron gate and arch with the pretty vine! Did the lantern come as set? I had two that I bought at Ross, but they didn't end up being very good ones! I used to plant pansie, but the bunnies eat them in my yard!! I now can only plant them in pots and hanging baskets and window boxes.
Thank you for the tour and happy gardening! xo

Celeste, your backyard fence is beautiful! Your gate is a work of art! I love the pediment feature you incorporated in your design! La Rock Beach is so cute and provides texture for your iron gate. I think the birdhouse will really pop against the oak stained fencing;red is a perfect color! I love your "Good Fences"! Have a wonderful weekend!

Lot of love and care went into your gorgeous garden. I am outdoor person and wish I had one like this. I still mow and keep my yard, but it definitely does not compare to yours.

Your gates and fence are beautiful, Celestina! What an oasis you have created, right in your own back yard! Love the wood and iron planter that your mums are in. And pansies are some of my very favorite flowers! They are so cheery, I think! I can see why you love spending so much time outdoors in your pretty yard!!

More loveliness... I like the "roof" detail you added to the gate - what a wonderful design idea that was! With the hanging lantern, the hinges etc. contrasting so nicely with the white, this is a lovely fence indeed. I always love it when you show pictures of your yard - it looks like such a beautiful place to linger...

Celeste late arriving to your Thursday good fences series, out and about all day. Relaxing I logged into my dashboard and there you are sharing the beauty of your home. Love it, sure does welcome and its gracefully styled and down right gorgeous. Ahhh Fall Mums and Pansies I adore and usually do both but this year it's only Russet colored Mums and Orange pumpkins adorning my steps. Very pretty fence and gate, truly love it.

Such a Gorgeous design for your gate, and love your timer light that is a great touch with the hardware on the gate! Your wreath is just lovely to top it off. I love your idea of painting what faces out white to match the house but keeping it just stained in the back, great privacy fence.
