Simplifying Autumn

Autumn's simple decor has caught my attention this season.

It seems each year, I have been adapting to a "less is more" style.

It's so refreshing to simplify.

A cozy corner filled with fall flowers in a tall pitcher.

A French style pumpkin sitting on a bench by the window.
A glowing candle wrapped with fall leaves.

An old barrel stave I hand painted with a scarecrow many years ago.
He fills a quiet corner in my dining room.
The pumpkin with the glowing smile is at the bottom of the stave. The vintage towel and flowers
grace a vintage crock my grandmother used to make green tomatoes many years ago.
You see a bit of lavender near by.
One of my favorite simply autumn treasures.
Lovely autumn plate with sweet critters gathering in the yard.
If you look close you can see them enjoying the sunshine.
I love the sweet cottage.

Special and simple touches using one of my favorite greenware pitchers
for a simplified  centerpiece on the kitchen table.

How about you~ are you decorating with less?
Do you simplify your spaces?
Are you simplifying autumn?

Be Blessed,
Celestina Marie

I'll be back to share a  rainy day craft next time.
XO

My Mother loved to decorate for all the holidays. When her grandkids were in their teens she did not decorate that much and it sadden me. I now think I know how she felt. A few years ago it seem that everyone was so busy with their jobs and school that their was not much time to visit as we used to. That is when I started to cut back on my holiday decorating. Now it is just a few things that I put out and for us that is ok.

Now I am making candied apples for Halloween. I love the Fall, but this is the last apple picking trip. Wish you were close,
I'd drop a few pies by you. yvonne

I guess I'll always decorate as long as I'm able, even if it's just for myself. However, yes, I have simplified so much, too, Celeste. I guess as we get older, less is more, is what's important! I enjoyed seeing your pretty Fall touches around your house.
Enjoy your week! xo

I have enjoyed bring fall into the house (it actually feels like fall this morning and we have the heater on) with simple touches. The fall flower colors are enough for me!

Good Afternoon Celestina, You have brought beautiful Autumnal touches to your home. The colours on the leaves are beautiful mixed with your garden flowers.
I think I have mentioned before that we do not decorate for Autumn here in England, so it is always a treat to see how my American friends 'do' things.
I do enjoy Autumn, and I tend to light candles in the evening which I really do love.
Best Wishes to you.

Beautiful fall accents, love the candle leaf wrap, your painted scarecrow is just too cute, you do such a great job. I probably should simplify my decorations, my hubby would like that too I am sure but I have a house full of decorations and I have a hard time getting rid of items that mean something to me.

I did not do as much as I used to do. I gave two plastic tubs of Fall decorations away and there are still two left in garage. I mostly used my pumpkins (fake) and garland.
I love all the decorations that you put up - everything looks perfect. I think as we get older, we want it easier. At least I do.
Have a wonderful week. Did you get any of that storm that went thru Texas. It was 93 here on Saturday. We are never going to get any Fall or Winter. I'm still wearing shorts....

I have gone much simpler this year, too, Celeste. I am to the point where I would rather have a few things I REALLY love than a whole bunch of Autumn "stuff".
Don't know if I can do that for Christmas, though- xo Diana

Lovely autumn decor Celeste. Your decorating style is so peaceful, and quietly and elegantly joyful. I admit to only a few pumpkins and my grandmother's handmade placemats at this point, but more because I've been too busy to do more. I usually don't decorate too much for autumn, mainly because oranges and browns and yellows aren't my favorite. I have seen a number a pink, sparkly pumpkins around, though, that I would enjoy!
Hope you are enjoying your autumn. I'm wondering if you have gotten a lot of that rain lately? Blessings, Deborah

So, so pretty! Your painted items are always fun to see. Love the flowers ~ I have to go to TJ's this week and pick some up. My favorite aunt loved gardening and always had fresh flowers all over her house. I think that's what started my love of them! Miss her so ~ :)

Hope you're having a great week!

I always enjoy your beautiful decor dear. Autumn colors yet soothing vignettes. I am finding I am doing less "cutesie" and instead semi-refined/elegant decor. Maybe I am finally "maturing". Creative Autumn Bliss...
