Happy 4th of July~ God Bless America

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

Beautiful words from one of America's favorite Patriotic songs.

I hope everyone enjoys a beautiful Independence day as we remember the many men and women who serve to keep America Free.
Let us also remember the many brave soldiers who served and died for America.

We honor you all and we thank you for the sacrifices you make everyday so that we may enjoy a weekend of BBQ's and fun in the land of the free and home of the brave!

Blessings to you for good health, happiness and much love.
Enjoy a Happy, Free and Safe 4th of July! Celestina Marie

Enjoy the music of God Bless America as I share a few pics of the season from around our cottage home.

Welcome Friends!

To welcome you, I have added to my urn of geraniums, this darling Grandma Mabel's Critters plaque sign ,gifted to me by my dear friend Julie Marie of Idyllhours. I love this so much and the meaning behind each design. Thank you Julie, I love it and you! The sentiment around the design is written on the back. Wonderful person Grandma Mabel was!

Let's walk outside while we have a little break in the rains. We finally are getting some much needed rain, moved up our way from the hurricane in the gulf. We sure need it.
First we are greeted by my Uncle Sam. I created him a very long time ago, nearly 25 years now. He is ready to greet you in his stern and patriotic look! He stands over 4 foot tall and waves his flag with a big heart for the Land that he Loves!

Recently I added a trelllis to the large pot I have on our patio to help my Potato Vine along. I think the vine loves it.

A little red, white, and blue among my flowers.

Let's go inside to make some lemonade or cup of tea with cupcakes and strawberries.

Thank you for stopping by today. I love having you here and sharing in the Indepdence of our nation. We may be able to BBQ later if the rain gives us a break. Whatever your plans, I wish for you a safe, happy and special 4th of July weekend.
Till next time, Blessings to you all!
Celestina Marie

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY~2009

When I was growing up, I was raised in a very patriotic family. We raised our flag for each and everyone of our nations celebrations. My father actually installed a beautiful flag pole in our yard that we were all very proud of. In our yard today, we always fly our flag each and everyday. Since 911 we have not taken it down. Our flag is a permanent part of our home. And, if you fly a flag 24/7 it is proper etiquette to have it lit with a spotlight during the night time hours.

The First Flag!

Our Flag is a symbol of service and on June 14th 1777 the Continental Congress passed the first Flag Act which resolved that the flag of the United States be made of 13 stripes in red and white, the union should be 13 stars with a blue background. In 1818 the Act provided that the 13 stripes represented the 13 colonies and one star for each state to be added on the 4th of July following admission of each new state and signed by President Monroe. Thus we have the flag we know today.

Whatever you plan for this 4th of July, I hope you have happy and safe times with family and friends and look towards our flag with honor and pride in America.
Thank you for stopping by and till next time, Blessings and Blue Skies,
Celestina
