Kuick, Koverup, Kraft~~

Do you ever have a favorite of something and want it to look more decorative?

 

Well, as I have brought a bit of aqua into my spring decor,

I have a favorite hand lotion

with an aqua pump top that I love to have handy sitting out on the master bath

vanity.

 

But the thing is, I'm not one for clutter and I love items to be placed~

deliberately and decorative.

 

So anyway,

 I have this large bottle of lotion, fairly priced and one I grab for all through the day.

I need it out and handy.

 

But I want a pretty look to fit in with my decor.

So goes this little project.

 

Staring with the shape of the bottle,

I trace around the front design shape using tracing paper.

 

Next, I used a pretty french perfume graphic from

The Graphics Fairy.

 

Sized it to about the length of the bottle and shape I traced.

 

Printed it off on card stock and then cut it out, the shape of the tracing paper.

And, the card stock was white and matches the bottle perfectly past the print of the graphic

covering up any small print on the bottle.

 

Then I  placed the new shape of the graphic on the bottle

and glued in place using mod podge.

 

Let dry~

and applied a coat of Triple Thick over the graphic.

 

Let dry flat to keep from any thick running of the TT and later add a ribbon trim.

 

~Complete~

 

A touch of the aqua on the pump top with  a new look.

When empty, it can be refilled.

 

Kuick, Koverup  Kraft

Easy, quick and with a designer look.

Remember, any wrinkles will dry out flat when using Triple Thick.

Great Find For Redesign!

Greetings Everyone~~ Vacation is over and it is back to reality!! We had a great time in the "Land of Enchantment" and I'll share some pics from Santa Fe soon, but today I want to show you a vintage black Samsonite suitcase I found earlier in the summer.
What a find for 5 dollars. The inside was so nice, I decided to leave it as is. Usually I paint and line these types of cases, but this one really needs to shine just the way it is. Well, except for a vintage graphic design on the front. This case even had the key included, which is rare.





So I picked out a few vintage graphics to mix on the front. Courtesy of The Graphic's Fairy and the fun began!


Next, I layout the placement after cutting around the edges with a pretty scissor design and glue down using Modpodge only on one side.
After all dries, I glaze the top of just the graphics, with Triple Thick. This forms a glass like surface that will hold up to everyday use. It leaves a smooth surface that will not rip or tear away.





Now here is a question for you. After I finished this sweet treasure, I decided it was missing something to the center. What do you think it needs?

This Victorian Lady graphic?

Or this pretty vintage graphic of the lady in her hat with rose?

How about this simple rose graphic design?

I think I like them all, but leaning towards the rose.

It sure is pretty in my newly updated master bedroom. This time I will keep this one, but others will fill the shelves in my shop soon. They are perfect for holding treasures, scarves, magazines, greeting cards and lots more.

Just Some Thoughts to Revisit!

Last year I received an email with some beautiful thoughts that I want to pass along once again. It has been a very busy time here at CMD and so I decided to do a little revisit of a previous post just to let you know I am still here but swamped. I hope you enjoy the meanings of these little food for thoughts.

Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble;
it is a "steering wheel" that directs us in the right path throughout life.



Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small?
Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.



Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.




All things in life are temporary. If going well enjoy it, they will not last forever.
If going wrong don't worry, they can't last long either.




Old friends are like Gold! New friends are Diamonds! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold!



Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says,
"Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!




When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.



A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision."



When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; and sometimes,
when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.



WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES; it takes away today's PEACE.
