Aqua Pops in the Dining Room

In my mission to spring clean,
I moved next, after the library,
 to the dining room.

By the way, thank you for the sweet comments on my clean book shelves
in the library/family room.

Now moving on to more cleaning.

With spring here and the new season, I have brought in pops of aqua.
Last year, I decorated in a beachy look with aqua, but decided on a cottage garden style this season.

My inspirational point started with this fabric design for the windows.

It blends well with black and the old world rustic tile flooring.

At night I can close them and it will be nice when the temps are 105 degrees.
To the bottom part of the window,
I have blended a lacy insert curtain the same color as the antique taupe in the drape.
It gives a little privacy when open and sitting at the table.
This room faces the front of the house so it softens the look.

I have more going on here with this chair pad
 but I'm still completing this
and will share that when done!
I did not make the drapes or the one chair pad and I'll share more about this later.

To start I emptied the hutch, cleaned the inside top to bottom
and then moved dishes around for a new look.

This season I am loving black, blue and aqua together.
Yes, I know you might be ??? that, but it really does work and
when shopping around town I am seeing it everywhere in home decor too.

Anyway, I took out all my white dishes
 and
brought my collection of Vintage Blue and Whites to fill
and change up the color and look of the room.

I'm going back to an old world cottage garden style.
This just fits this house, the brick and the stone.

This little egg collection is a set I painted nearly 25 years ago.
Each one has a little springy scene.

Love this blue pie bird.

The buffet top was next and I added this pretty toile platter
I found last weekend on a little treasure hunt.

Next I cleaned and redesigned the hutch top.
I still used my white roosters and added
some blue and white to tie in the color.

On the side buffet
I found a wonderful shade with french script for my lamp.

Then teamed this area up with a gorgeous framed C design
I received from the very talented
Sherry ~ Edie Marie

Stop by and say hello. Their blog is very French Chic!

Love the aqua bunny with it.
Love this Sherry, thank you so much!

This cloche is filled with faux Easter Eggs
topping a Antique plate from Washington DC.
I love the aqua and gold edge on the plate.

I found this treasure with the the toile platter.

For the table
I created a springy look using
the long wire tray I found on my recent trip.

The pedestal holds the nest and little bird with eggs.

You know how I love these faux candles on timers
and this comes on each evening at the same time for 4 hours.
So cozy wrapped in vintage lace and sitting on a couple saucers from England.

A bit of the blue and white again with this bunny
sitting on a crocheted aqua and white doily spilling over the wire tray.

A little green completes this vignette in a vintage bowl created by my mother many years ago.

Lastly, I added my Tuscan prints on each side of the hutch.
The frame compliments the black and wood tones of the table.

The head chair is so comfy with this gorgeous pillow hand made
by one of my favorite etsy sellers in Spain.

I met Patty on Etsy when she lived in Florida and moved to Spain awhile ago.

The colors are perfect for the chairs and the aqua in the room.

I'll be back with the final reveal when I finish up painting one last piece.

See you soon.

Be Blessed

XO
Celestina Marie

Your dining room looks very pretty with all your accents and decor. But, what really caught my eye is the crochet table cloth which is the exact same pattern as the one I have from my grandmother (a wedding gift to her in the 40's). I'm popping over from The Enchanting Rose and one of you newest followers. I look forward to your posts. Heather
