French Inspired Keepsake Boxes

Welcome all week long to visit Etsy Cottage Style Blog and the many creative happenings from participants studios called

I've also had some fun finishing altered art keepsake boxes with a little French inspiration.

Each has a bit of Paris chic style with Eiffel Tower, crown, Fleur Di Li's and French postage.

All are accented with my pink cottage roses.
Made from wood and 4" square,

they have glass like knobs on the lid and perfect to hold

sweet little treasures,

jewelry or a special gift.
Each a bit different

with accents in aqua,

soft gray and chic black.
And, of course, pink roses!

This vintage treasure was so much fun to redesign

I shared it last week, created when it was snowing.

What a difference a week makes.

We are now warmed up and tomorrow predicted to be in the

upper 70's.

All these little pretties are now filling the shelves in my etsy shoppe.

Thank you for stopping by,

 and while your browsing,

stop by ECS to see what else is coming from the cottage craft room.
See you soon.

Have a blessed day.

Celestina Marie

French Inspired Keepsake Boxes

The inspiration continues as I created some special keepsake boxes using more wonderful graphics from The Graphics Fairy.

This first one is a vintage wood box. Hand painted cottage cream with added vintage post card to the lid and sealed with Triple Thick to make it look like it is right in the wood.
You hear me talk about Triple Thick in many of my projects. You can find this glaze at most art and craft shops. Takes some practise to use, but the results are wonderful. One coat is usually all that is needed.

This next one is larger and hand painted light pale pink with two french graphics on the lid and trailing roses throughout.

Thanks to The Graphics Fairy for these amazing designs. These two boxes will be available in my etsy shoppe Wednesday night the 12th. Just in time for Thursday Marketplace from Shabby Cottage Shops and my etsy boutique.

See you soon.
Happy Creating, Celestina Marie

Summer is a busy time here in the studio. I am working steadily on stocking the shelves in my cottage closet for my new web shoppe coming soon. Just thought I would give you a sneak preview of the new treasures on the way. New items coming will be a mix of shabby romantic to folk art and holiday. I am having so much fun!!

This sweet little item is a custom design for a dear customer. She brought me this last week. Debbie, it's finished. Busy bees on your old matchbox holder!

Sweet Victorian Nest Tray and Oval keepsake treasure box.

Blue Rose Wood flower cart and Pink Rose and Hydrangea covered server/candy dish!

Large Cottage Spoon, Tuscan Tray,Pink Toile Roof Bird House and Wood Candle Sticks.

And lots more to paint! So back in the studio I go!!

Also, wanted to mention that many blog friends have had trouble visiting around blog land. It seems that a window pops up that reads "site aborted" I have experienced this trying to visit many friends and others have told me the same thing happens to them. Hope it is fixed soon. I'll keep trying to visit and till next time~

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY~WELCOME BLOGGING FRIENDS~~ AND THE WINNER IS!!!!!!!

Blessings come to us in many ways. Today, on the eve of Mother's Day, I was blessed with a joyful visit from blogging friends, Sherry from Eddie Marie's Attic, her daughter in law Chris and Linda from Linda's Bluegate Blog. In several posts back, I shared the trip Sherry and Chris were to take for a two week venture. Today they arrived via Amtrak and Linda picked them up before coming to my house for a fun visit.

Our time together was very special, but of course, was over way to fast. We talked and laughed and visited over lunch while dear hubby waited on us with ice tea and lemonade. He is such a gem, helping to host, so I could visit with my lovely friends who are beautiful ladies inside and out.

Beazy gave her WELCOME WAGGIN Greeting~~ and made clear she was one of the girls.

We shared a little somethin, somethin gifts!

Sherry and Chris brought me a awesome jeans tote bag made by Sherry. I love it. It has great pockets for sunglasses, cellphone and keys along with a fully lined inside made from shirt fabric. The closure hook is a gorgeous dragon fly pin. Being a purseaholic, I fell instantly in love with this bag made by talented and creative Sherry.

Miss Beazy was thrilled with her gift of a darling scarf also made by Sherry. The fabric has little bees (perfect for Beazy) and apples, since she is the apple of my eye.

Sharing our gifts of a little somethin, somethin's.

Showing the lids to their keepsake boxes.

Blogging Friends~~
Sherry drew the name for the 100th post giveaway winner. The basket was full. Given a good shake and mix. And the winner is~~~~

Best wishes to everyone for a special Mother's Day 2009. I will spend my day with my wonderful son and dear hubby. We will be in church, and then I was told, the guys will take me to dinner. I always love the time I spend with my sweet family and thankful for the blessings of being a mom. Whatever your day holds, may you find the joy and love being with family and friends.

Linda also has her post up to share with everyone when the girls stayed with her. Click here to visit and read about the fun Sherry and Chris had.
