Creative Ornament Ideas Continued~~

A few days ago I shared with you
a tutorial for
this ornament.
 If you would like to
create it using the steps provided,
click,
Since that post
we were hit with  winter weather
here in Texas and very cold temps.
Not snowed in, but cold temps with
sleet and drizzling rain.

And for me it's
 the perfect combo for creating
and getting into the holiday spirit.

So here are a few more ornament ideas
that are quick and easy.

Perfect for gifts,
sending as a card in a bubble envelope
or tying on a package.

Here are a few items needed.
The rest is up to your own creativity
and imagination.

Great to do with the kids
for home bound projects
when the weather keeps them home from school.

This framed angel
is another ornament card I created.
*****
Most of the supplies are gathered
from the Dollar Stores,
Michael's  and  JoAnn's  Dollar  section
along with bits and pieces left from other projects.

designed and created.

It's an on going journey
but one I truly love
and so thankful for.

So on that note,
I wish for you

Just a Few More Creations

Every year, when I finish creating for the season, it seems just a few more little projects come to mind and I have to get busy.

Ornaments and cards for friends are just a few ideas.
Glittered cards to wish a Merry Christmas, graphics from The Graphics Fairy~
This card below and others was designed using my hand painted roses around the vintage Christmas Polka graphic courtesy of The Graphics Fairy
For a quick little Silent Night Pillow. All I did for this project was to turnover a pillow I already use on the bed. Copied on fabric transfer fabric the graphic. Ironed it on the coordinating fabric that has a raw distressed edge and chosen to go with the room. Ran a line of glitter glue around the graphic and then used a running stitch to apply it to the pillow using vintage candlewick thread. The glittery snowflake pin was added last and that's it. After the holiday, just pull out the stitch, store away and it will be ready to use again next year.
And, I changed out my coat rack cone with winter greens, white berries, gold and silver and of course a few rolls of sheet music. The vintage hat is a treasure I found about 10 years ago and just love displaying it for winter.
Thank you for stopping by today. It is always a joy to have you visit and read your kind comments. I'm sure I'll share a few more projects along the way as I prepare for my Holiday Home Tour coming soon. Christmas Blessings, Celestina Marie

Creating Vintage Charm

Art and Design for Pretty Living~

Several months ago, I was asked by contributing editor, Cindy Adkins of Creating Vintage Charm Magazine to tell my creative journey in an interview written feature with photos.

This lovely publication arrived at my door this week and within pages 10 and 11 of the Winter 2012 issue is my little story of my artful journey over the years.

Editor-In-Chief, Sonia Crouse, creates a beautiful publication offered quarterly and available on line for purchase.
Inside you will find Cover Stories, The Marketplace, Meet The Artist, Gift Giving, Gallery, Inspirations, At Home, Events, Free Cut Out Images and more including beautiful photos.

Here is the link if you would like to order a copy.
direct from Mag Cloud or visit www.CreatingVintageCharm.com
It was a joy to work with Cindy Adkins once again on this project. She is a very talented artist and author publishing many books on Amazon, and not surprising, best sellers all.

Recently I popped in our favorite red bullseye store (Target) and found these darling ornaments made from woven wood in whites and natural colors.

Not many left and one lady wanted the natural, so in the spirit of the season, I wanted her to have those and so I only got the white in a star and heart. Back to the studio they came for a little redesign. I added vintage hem ribbon, glitter, silk flowers, embellishment gems and of course glitter. These little treasures will be a gift soon if I can part with them. I don't keep much, but once in awhile I have to have a treat!!
Thank you for stopping by. As always, I enjoy your visits, comments and welcome new followers. Have a Merry Day!!!! Hugs, Celestina Marie

In Search Of!

Welcome to Thrifty Thursday!! So glad you could join me again this week as I share a few found treasures for redesign.
As you know, last weekend was a wash, but I have other found items that are filling my store room and studio ready for paint and brush!

Like this old box. Can't you just see a little shabby rose redo on this one?

Or this wonderful pedestal table. It's ready to go with a nice basecoat.

Look at this pink pedestal candle holder. Great piece for photo shoots.

And, I love to find these silver and metal treasures. These are primed and ready for some paint.

Ornaments fill the shelves, ready to design and pink spoons in the process. Here you see I have sketched my little winter cottage shape. Oh and Santa's get a basecoat too!

Then I found this old wood spoon rack. I will repaint this a soft white or pink. Sweet Home is a metal flower wall accent. I can see a little french chic design on this one.

I adore this little treasure, a table or wall cabinet with a drawer. Here I was playing with a few looks. Perhaps this teapot needs a rose. The vineyard sign was a great find while I was on staycation this summer.

These next few treasures are going to stay with me and found a place in my little cottage for them.
Love the teapot with rooster and a touch of blue. It goes so nicely with my blue willow.

And this sweet rooster teapot with mugs.

Lastly, look at these beautiful floral framed pieces. They found there way to the master bedroom. I thought about doing something with the frames, but they looked fine just like they were. I thought they had old world charm.

That does it for this Thrift Thursday. See even Iif miss a treasure hunt, yard sale or antique mall, I still have lots to keep me company in the studio. All the above items were under 8 dollars. Score!!
Thanks for stopping by. See you tomorrow for Fun Friday and Fashion.
Have a special day~~~Celestina Marie
