INTRODUCING A FEW NEW SHABBY FRIENDS!

Please let me introduce you to a few new friends, born from my studio last week. Yes, these little sweeties are pretty in pink and making a trip over to my shoppe in hopes of a new home.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying the Autumn season with cooler days and filled with hope for the holiday soon to be here. I can't believe how fast the time is flying by this year.

I have been just swamped in my studio with lots of fun going on and much more to follow. These sweet little friends kept me company, as one by one they came to life with a little pink paint, a rose or two and lots of love through strokes with my paint brush.

And vintage icy aqua bell molds with snowman friends from a study in "Wintry Friends" also accented on a folk art tea pot and rolling pin for my country french style gal pals!



Keeping company with my winter friend decor are my newest vintage molds for this season. Each year I offer these darling old molds hand painted in shabby rose style. They too are filling the shelves HERE!

Yes, the holidays are on the way. The blessed season seems to arrive earlier each year or maybe that is just what happens when you design. At any rate, it is crunch time and lots going on. From Make Mine Pink 2010 Ornament Swamp, to Care packages, gift shopping, the butterfly project and more, so many posts to follow on all this coming soon.

~~~Makin Mittens~~~~

Today I just want to send a big thank you to my BG (best guy) for cutting the wood to make these snowman and rose mitten ornaments. I have marked and cut many wood pieces of all types over the years, so this is a huge help to me, especially this time of year when things are really buzzin in my studio. He has always helped me with everything in my decorative painting career. Even in the days of having mall space, he would go with me each week to help me move furniture, climb ladders, set up lighting and tons of other details. All this while he works his own career and travels. He is a blessing to me and to all who know this giving and generous, Best Guy of mine! Thank you so much honey!

So with wood cut, sanded and basecoated, I am ready for makin mittens.
Many have already been added to my etsy shoppe and found homes, but I have a few more on the way, including these snowman and santa designs.


These mittens are ready to finish tomorrow. Shabby to chic and folk art, all going to the etsy shoppe shortly.

These are also ready and in the shoppe here hand painted from a study in Brushtiques 3. Wooden tags hand painted with winter light houses in a 3 piece set.




Pink pumpkins have found new homes with our sweet friends, Marydon from Feedsack Fantasy and Julie Marie from idyllhours.

I'm working on lots more creations and they will be ready soon. So back to the studio I go but I'll be back tomorrow to share a view thrifty items I found recently.

Shining a Light Ornaments!

Welcome to today's Paint Palette Wednesday.
Shining a light on ornaments is the busy work going on in my studio. Light bulb ornies that is. As you may know, I have painted these for years. When a light bulb burns out, it gets a new life by becoming an ornament. I like to think of this as my way to help in the plight to go green.

So here is the process from start to finish. First I start with a burned out bulb, drill a hole in the connection, prime with a tile and glass medium, let dry and then paint and decorate.






Here are a few when finished. These are last year's snowladies. I use the tops of socks for the hats and embellish with trims and glitter.





Sorry for the smaller pic. These would not enlarge from my computer. But you get the idea. I have designed hundreds of styles from shabby roses with ribbons, santas, cottages and more. You don't have to paint to make these work for you either. Simply decorate, embellish or add graphics of your choice.
Well, I am swamped with the holiday decor and it's not even Halloween yet. That's how it is every year. And, the season seems to start earlier each year. So I have decided to be done painting after Thanksgiving, so I can enjoy the month of December without being rushed. Christmas should be enjoyed and given time for reflection. Now that's the plan, I hope it will work!!

In Search Of!

Welcome to Thrifty Thursday!! So glad you could join me again this week as I share a few found treasures for redesign.
As you know, last weekend was a wash, but I have other found items that are filling my store room and studio ready for paint and brush!

Like this old box. Can't you just see a little shabby rose redo on this one?


Or this wonderful pedestal table. It's ready to go with a nice basecoat.

Look at this pink pedestal candle holder. Great piece for photo shoots.

And, I love to find these silver and metal treasures. These are primed and ready for some paint.


Ornaments fill the shelves, ready to design and pink spoons in the process. Here you see I have sketched my little winter cottage shape. Oh and Santa's get a basecoat too!



Then I found this old wood spoon rack. I will repaint this a soft white or pink. Sweet Home is a metal flower wall accent. I can see a little french chic design on this one.


I adore this little treasure, a table or wall cabinet with a drawer. Here I was playing with a few looks. Perhaps this teapot needs a rose. The vineyard sign was a great find while I was on staycation this summer.

These next few treasures are going to stay with me and found a place in my little cottage for them.
Love the teapot with rooster and a touch of blue. It goes so nicely with my blue willow.

And this sweet rooster teapot with mugs.

Lastly,look at these beautiful floral framed pieces. They found there way to the master bedroom. I thought about doing something with the frames, but they looked fine just like they were. I thought they had old world charm.
